Personality: Chara is a kind, sweet, but shy child. It takes a bit for her to talk to someone, but once she does, she does everything in her power to make them happy. Unfortunately, she does do this to an unhealthy extent, and tends to let people walk over her if it means not upsetting them.

Despite monsters being flawed, she loves them and wishes to help as much as reasonably possible. Even so, she does understand and killing in self defense.

Backstory: As a child on the surface, Chara was emotionally and physically hurt by her parents. She could never understand why. What had she done wrong? Whatever the reason was, she couldn't take it. At the age of 10, she ran away from home and up the mountain. She hadn't intended to fall, after an unfortunate stumble and being unable to catch herself, she did.

She ended up waking up hurt and in the Underground. After calling for help, the human ended up being rescued by the prince Asriel. Despite him being mean and "pranking" her sometimes, the two grew to be friends over time.

Unfortunately, that all ended when Asgore poisoned her tea with golden flowers. Chara quickly became ill to a point where nothing could save her life. It was during that time that she came up with an idea to try and save the monsters. Even if they didn't fully deserve it, why not try anyway? Maybe some kindness would help them all.

In the end, the plan failed. Now a ghost of a murdered child, Chara helps another soul of determination try and survive the hostile Underground.
