Acquiescence. That’s all she felt when she approached the winter air. Pulling her arms into her jacket to hug herself in a shudder made her wish for the sun to melt the snow that had been piling up around her feet as she began her long trek to Wellston.

Living outside of the dorms had its perks. She got to have her room to herself and if she wanted to stay inside all day there was no need for make up or change out of her PJs. Her skirt began to ruffle a little as the wind picked up, the chill piercing straight to her bones. “This sucks.” She muttered as the hostile cold pushed on relentlessly.

It was a state of mind that pushed the boundaries of what she began to accept or reject. And days like this made her question of her choices, much like living fatter away from the school, were actually right. Her ability gave her power, power have her authority and her authority afforded her large concessions as well as how to deal with those beneath her, but does might make right?

It was the same with her mind. Sometimes she would only look at one side of the coin, closed off, irritated and stubborn. She became vitriolic just because it was easier than listening.   She had ed what she had done to a boy. He had become the target of some bad rumor with little to no basis. When she confronted him, he told her the truth but she refused to believe it, crushing him under her heel. “Damn.” She swore under her breath.

Her frosty breath became more labored as the snow became a bit thicker, the path she was walking became harder and harder to tread. “He should’ve stayed in his lane.” She had a weak justification for her actions, though, that was all she had. Instead of reflecting on herself and her actions she blamed those without power, and doubled down saying that she was right and he was wrong. Everyone was wrong, those without power should not even stand in The way of those that are gifted.

Unlike the snow, she could cut through them. Unlike the cold, she could only seek shelter. Unlike she people she had stepped on, she could only feel hollow. She followed the blame that had piled up, refusing to listening and never casting doubt on the accs, she was becoming the very thing that she had proclaimed to hate. She was becoming a hypocrite, a liar, a thief, a mindless sheep. “No. No no THEY’RE wrong. Not me! I’m not wrong! I’m not!”

Acquiescence. That’s all she felt from her very sense of self.
