Chapter 11:

Back To It I Guess

P.O.V: Luke

“I don’t get why you’re still salty about Lui.” I say while walking with Jonathan. “Why don’t you? It’s simple, I like Evan and I’m just a tiny bit jealous of Lui.” He crosses his arms. “A tiny bit to much.” I cough. “What was that?” He asks angrily. “Nothing.” I chuckle. My phone starts ringing, so I pick up.

“L-Luke.” It’s Ryan. “What’s up?” “I-I’m not coming to school today.” “Why not?” “Change of plans.” He sighs over the phone. “Are you at the hospital?” I ask. “Y-Yeah. Why?” “Change of plans.” I tell him. “What the hell is happening?” Jonathan asks. I look at him, “Change of plans.” “What?” “You’re going to school, I’m not.” “What?!” “Dude, it’s simple. I’m quitting for Ryan. I’ll be back at the school like it never happened, just don’t tell Mom and Dad.” “Alright then.” He shrugs.

P.O.V: Jonathan

I begin walking towards my middle school. As soon as I get there, I see Evan. Oh god. I really don’t want to talk to him, but I think I’ll be okay today. I take a deep breath before walking over to him. “H-Hey Evan. Sorry about yesterday.” “Hm? No it’s fine. I know you’re still warming up to Lui. Take as long as you need.” He smiles. He’s not mad? “Oh, I just noticed, where’s Luke?” He asks. I sigh, “He went to he hospital for Ryan.” ”Who’s Ryan?” “His childhood friend. They were basically brothers before my dad and I came waltzing through the door.” I laugh. He laughs along with me.

Today is actually turning out pretty okay. I’m surprised. I look over at the bus and see a guy in green walk out with a kid on his shoulders.

Yeah, I take that back...

“Lui! Nogla!” Evan shouts while waving his arm. I laugh, he’s so childish. I look at Lui while he screeches silently and Nogla facepalming behind him. “So you’re Jonathan?” Nogla asks me. I nod. Lui screeches even more. “Lui stop! You’re freaking him out!”Nogla yells at him. “Shoosh! Let it happen.” Lui smirks. Evan blushes as we make eye . Well his is weird.

P.O.V: Lui

EEK! They’re finally talking to each other! I’m so proud right now. Screw Nogla! Oh! I have an idea, but I’m afraid Jon will get suspicious. Ugh, might as well try it. FOR JON AND EVAN! “Yo Jon! Can I talk to you really quick?” I ask. He hesitates before nodding. “So, do you love Evan or what?” I ask. “Do you?” He asks bitterly. “Hell no! Dude, Evan was made for you, why would I want to ruin that? That would dumb as hell.” I ramble. Jonathan’s eyes widen, he’s taken aback by my statement. Something tells me to keep going. “So so you, or do you not?” I ask again. “Yeah.” He sighs. I try to hold in my screech, but because of that my voice ends up sounded like a kid’s. Nogla calls it “My squeaker voice”. “Great! Now we can go back. Don’t worry, I won’t push you. I’ll assist.” He laughs, “You sound like a kindergartner.” “Shut up dude.” He wheezes before walking out with me.

P.O.V: Nogla

God, Lui is taking forever. Evan starts fiddling with his fingers. “It’s alright dude, just wait.” I reassure him. He nods. “Heyo, we’re back!” Lui squeaks. Evan starts wheezing, “You’re voice is so high pitched.” Lui rolls his eyes as Evan and Jonathan laugh. All I can do is chuckle at this. Lui walks over to me, “Dude, it’s happening! They’re laughing together.” “Don’t pressure it.” I brush him off my shoulder. “Shoosh, let me work my magic.” I sigh, this is going to be a long day.

P.O.V: Jonathan

The bell rings and we have to go to class. I sit down in the back, again. I stare at the window until someone taps on my desk. I look up to see that it’s Anthony. “Hey, I was walking by and I heard you and the new kid talking. Do you like Evan?” He asks. I glare at him, “Why does it matter? You shouldn’t have been eavesdropping on our conversation.” He shrugs, “You just lost your chance.” I sigh in annoyance.

P.O.V: Anthony

“Did he answer?” Tyler asks. I shake my head which earns me a punch in the arm. “What did he say?” “He asked why I was listening to their conversation.” I sigh. “Goddammit. Here’s the money anyway.” Tyler hands me ten dollars. “Why ten?” I ask. “You didn’t find out anything.” He snarls. I walk back to my desk, not wanting to hear the rest of the argument.

I know this sounds weird, but I would compare my relationship with Tyler to an abusive one. He’s always hanging out with his friends, and I’m just there. At least the money will be enough for our bills. The highest amount I’ve ever gotten was a hundred. That was because I got Tyler his current girlfriend. I know Tyler secretly has a heart of gold under that play boy status. That’s not what I’m worried about at the moment though. I’m worried about how I’m going to explain why six hours of school only gave me ten dollars to my parents. The normal amount is about thirty to fifty.
