Chapter 5:

A New Perspective

P.O.V: Luke

I saw Jon blush at Evan’s chuckle. I grinned. I don’t know, despite being raised in a “homophobic” house hold, something about LGBT+ people seem to bring an uncontrollable amount of joy to me. “Thanks for saving me back there though.” Evan said. “No problem. I would’ve done the same for Luke.” Jon smiled. I pretended to glare at him, “No you wouldn’t.” “Just go along with it.” He whispers to me. I laugh at his childishness, “Okay fine. He would’ve done the same for me.” Jon hates being called out and impressing people, so he’s going to be terrible at hiding this to our parents. As long as Evan doesn’t find out about that, then we’re okay. I hope.

The bell rang signaling that lunch was over. Evan and Jon walked to their classes together so I went solo. It’s fine reader, don’t get to sad about this. You probably aren’t, but I don’t quite care at this point. Doing things solo is my specialty. It’s the way I was raised since my father died. Before I know it, I’m already in my next class.

I sat down in my seat and waited for class to start. The door to the classroom opens. “Ryan, would you like to us?” The teacher sighs. “Sorry ma’m.” He grabs his stuff and sits down next to me. “Dude, why the hell are you late?” I ask. “Well, long story short, Mom’s Cancer got the better of her. I went to take her to the hospital, she has about half a year to live.” He sighs. “Oh, sorry for asking.” Ryan is my childhood friend. He’s basically another brother to me. His mother has been dealing with cancer since the day he was born. This worries me, considering that Ryan might have it. But, as far as we know, he doesn’t.

The last bell rings and we’re all free from hell. I swear to god I can’t stand seven hours of this for five days. That’s thirty-five unnecessary hours of my time dedicated to learning basically nothing. I’m just so glad to go home.

A/N: This chapter’s a little short. Mainly because I ran out of ideas, and I want to add Vanti as a new persona in the next chapter. Oh, I spoiled it? My bad!
