When TombStone Arizona was founded (information provided by Tombstonenetimes.com)
Just imagine with me we're on an adventure it was a roaring hot desert with little to no human interaction we meet a man by the name of Ed.Schieffelin....and now our story begins. Thirty cents and a hunch was how Ed Schieffelin had began his "quest" for the riches which were soon to be found in San Pedro Vally, Ed discovered places white man haven't even touched or seen along with prospected before. He was venturing into an area known as Apache territory. Why just a dozen or so miles from his scouting spot was the Cochise Stronghold it was long known as the hideout for the band of Chiricahua Apache Indians they were lead by not only their leader Cochise but also Geronimo and victorio.
Again lest imagine were now in the year 1877 .....Ed had now been employed by the U.S government as an Indian scout after he left the Grand Canyon are having been finding no riches there. He was headquartered at the near by camp Huachuca and often found him self not only preforming his scouting duties but he was always on the look out for his "big strike" . It was common for him to wonder off on his own in this dangerous territory and he would have to proceed with care because the Indians were continuously active. There was little shelter from the elements much less places to hide ,as the area was treeless, this required Ed not to stay in one place for more then one night this made his work sadly a slow progressed and tedious.
