I'm here to introduce you to our new event!

You will be using the hashtag #Catathlon

Let's go over the rules, shall we? ต(=ω=)ต

We will give you a few paragraphs from a book, each month with different genre and theme, this time's winner is Fantasy!

Your task will be to make an OC based on the character that is being talked about, the one that is in the center of attention

✿°•∘ɷ∘•°✿

Drawing the character the way you see it as well as choosing a faceclaim is rewarded the same, we value creativity over method, so either one could win!

Choose any template you wish, or make your own, the more detailed and creative, the better. We are curious to see how you take a secret non-warriors character and turn it into a cat, with appearance, background story and personality!

We will only tell you the title of the book and author we inspired from after the event ends, to avoid cheating

The deadline will be untill 22nd of July

1st place will win the title of "The Visualist" and 150 coins

2nd place will win 100 coins

3rd place will win 50 coins

And for everyone else who don't qualify in top three, you get 25 coins just for making an OC and participating!

I pull away from my auntie's grip and rub my ears, because what I just heard cannot be true.

“Sorry, come again?” I splutter. “I thought you just said I was a Horangi.” The clan name tastes bitter in my mouth.

The gathering lets out a shocked gasp.

You adopted me because my birth parents were teenagers who were too young to raise me. Go on, tell her.

The gathering goes so quiet I’m pretty sure the warriors can hear my heart thumping in my chest.

“No, that’s not right,” I mutter. “I can’t be…It’s not possible!” My legs give out under me and I crumple to the ground. My friend crouches down to hold me, and I bury my head in her shoulder. This must be as much of a shock for her as it is for me.

“Were you ever going to tell me?” I dare to ask

“We never meant to hurt you, we were just protecting you-"

“Protecting me, or yourselves?” I blurt out. “it it. You were just ashamed of your cursed kit and what people would say if they knew. That’s why you kept it from me.”

“We could never be ashamed of you."

“We love you more than anything. "

“I wish I’d never been adopted!”

A flash of pain marks their faces, and my chest momentarily wrenches. “I didn’t mean…” I trail off, feeling my face get damp. “But you lied to me.

The elder narrow his eyes at her, and the gathering is now openly shaking their heads and muttering to one another.

But why?” I whisper. “Why did I have to be a secret?”

“We knew you’d be banished with the rest of the clan if the leader found out. “And we knew the future for the Horangi was bleak and lonely at best. What wrong had you committed but be born to foolish parents? We had to do everything in our power to protect you.”

"Today was supposed to be the best day of our lives, instead, I learned that I am cursed, and that I come from a line of heretics and murderers. My birth clan killed my best friend’s mother, and my adoptive parents will have to give up their divine callings if they want to keep me "

"No matter what happens, I will never belong".

As this realization dawns on me, I understand there is only one thing to do. Before I can change my mind, I turn and run, past my friend, past my parents, past the elder, and past everyone who are now more than ever questioning my place in this clan.
