Her name is derived from the word that refers to a thorny shrub, bush, or small tree.

Briar is attracted to all types of colors because of a bee's instinct to find colorful flowers to pollinate, like how moths are attracted to light! However, she'll refrain from wearing any clothing herself because the fuzz on her body and any fabrics could generate static electricity, causing her discomfort.

She wears glasses to bend her ultraviolet vision to see colors that other creatures see. She can't see red without them. (Her eyes can only see ultraviolet light patterns without her glasses.)

She has six limbs in total: four arms and two legs and can stand upright like a human does. If she needs to regain her balance, she'll try to move her wings just enough to propel herself upward to get her back on her feet.

The fuzz on her body can attract dust very easily, so she has a strict hygiene routine to keep her fuzz silky smooth. Combing, conditioning, and "fluffing" (letting her fuzz air dry after drying herself off with a towel after a shower) are her favorite ways to style herself. Also, whenever her wings get wet, she'll just vibrate them until the water flies off.

Her sclera appears black because of the ommatidia, or the clusters of highly sensitive photoreceptor cells in each of her eyes, surrounding her hexagonal irises.

She is a little intimidated by Wydowna Spider. Knowing that she is quite the mischievous bug, Briar tries not to get in her way.

I didn't have room to add this, but Briar also has a secret crush on the mantis boy background character. She's too nervous to ask him for his name and doesn't know how to address him, but she manages to sneak a few glances in the hallway, and her antennas perk up in surprise every time he obliviously walks past her. She's a bashful little bee! >w<

She likes to stay on her feet most of the time. The less she uses her wings, the more energy she'll have to fly later. She prefers to stay close to the ground in case of emergency. If someone were to damage her wings while she's airborne, or if they were bent or torn, her fall would cause more injuries. She uses her wings sometimes to hover over people when she's angry, when in midair in excitement, and they vibrate when she's happy, similar to how a cat purrs to express contentment.

Her antennae are most sensitive to sound since she doesn't have ears, touch because other insects communicate by feeling them together, and smell because of the ability to detect pheromones and other abnormalities in the air. If anyone were to touch them, it would cause her to get pretty flustered and surprised. They are also much thinner than in the picture.

She loves pop and electronic music and expresses her interest through dance because bees communicate through movement.

She can release pheromones of her own when either angry at someone or attracted to someone. To creatures who aren't bug-like, these pheromones can either smell like bananas when she feels prone to anger or citrus fruits when she's ready to mate. She doesn't possess a stinger, so that means, with her body being a combination of insect and human DNA, her vital organs are arranged in her torso like a human. She does not have mammary glands, which means she does not have breasts. They are not vital to reproducing her species. However, she can physically reproduce like a female human can. Yes, a bee's organs are kept in its abdomen, which is why it dies upon stinging a human. The human's skin is so strong to escape that the bee has no choice but to yank out its organs, which are also connected to the stinger, to release that "ambush" pheromone to tell other bees to sniff out the troublemaker. In this case, how she releases these pheromones to alert other bug creatures is through the pores on her exoskeleton, like how a human's skin secrete oils. Only this way, it smells like fruits! Think of it as a mushroom releasing its spores!

Briar is a vegetarian! Draculaura relates to her and loves the ideas for vegetarian dishes she comes up with in skullinary arts! Her favorite foods are fruits, although she prefers them over vegetables and legumes. She usually likes to say a small "thank you" to the pollinators of the bug variety every time eats, like a person thanking someone for a meal. (She can never say "no" to fruit salad and smoothies!) She knows how to differentiate between the smell of actual bananas and the alarm pheromone she releases, so the smell of bananas (isoamyl acetate) doesn't irritate her when she eats them. On the other hand, with citrus fruits such as limes, lemons, oranges, or grapefruits, she views them to have aphrodisiac qualities because of the similar chemical properties that their scent has with the mating pheromone!

This scent annoys her because she is embarrassed and ashamed to have any feelings or urges to mate at all. It's like a burden to her, making her insecure because it's part of her biology, and she can't hide it well.

Bees are docile creatures and only sting if they feel threatened. When she is intensely provoked by monsters she deems a nuisance or extremely annoying, she can get pretty defensive and angry. It's best not to get on her bad side. She can be pretty menacing if someone ticks her off. On the other hand, when met with new faces, Briar is pretty shy and tends to keep to herself unless someone opens up to her. She can get nervous if too many people are in the same room and start to stare at her as the center of attention. If she needs attention, however, like if she's hurt, she understands that the people she trusts are concerned for her and will remain calm, reassured, and even thankful in that instance. Hypothetically, if she happens to have a crush on someone, she would most likely keep her thoughts to herself. She doesn't want to give them trouble and burden them with her feelings.
