When you are first starting in witchcraft i think its important to have somewhere that you can save all of your research, spells, rituals and things that you find useful. usb flash drives, and grimoires are a good choice for this.
Today i wanted to explain how you can set up a grimoire. (i can explain usb flash drives another day)
Obviously, you are going to need a blank book of some kind. it does not have to be fancy (unless you want it to be). notebooks, diaries and binders are some good choices.
I think that a lot of beginner witches seem to have this idea that grimoires need leather bound with tea dyed pages, and each chapter or section has to be in an exact order, with no spelling mistakes, so they decide to go to a metaphysical shop and buy an expensive fancy leather bound book, and then they are too scared to fill it out, because they realize they won't be able to make it look the way they visualized it would look. If your grimoire has spelling mistakes and isn't decorated with much artwork, it doesn't matter. I also think grimoires that look big and fancy like that are something that Hollywood produce to make it look all mysterious and interesting.
Another thing to keep in mind before filling it out, is to try to use bigger writing and larger fonts if you can. You may find yourself 30 years from now re reading your grimoire and by that stage you may need glasses to see things and you may struggle to see what you have written if it is too small.
As for actually setting it up, there is no right or wrong way, you can set it up however you want. How i set mine up was i left the first page blank because i want to have artwork on my first page then i left the next 4 pages blank after that to make room for an index to go there. then after that i started filling out the rest of the pages with all rituals and spells and information. and once i got to the end of the book, I numbered each page and created the index and then started a new book.
