#1 Welcome To The First Class!
Stepping through the door leading to the classroom, Professor Percy smiled gently as she slowly walked past the rows of desks leading down the classroom towards her own desk. It was a new year and the students would be arriving soon. Reminiscing on the year past she thought of all the students she had seen over the past year, as she sat in the seat behind her desk.
Within a short period of time the first of the students began arriving, it was obvious which students were excited for potions and which student were dreading the class. Smirking Professor Percy, carefully watched the students while she waited for the last student to take their seat. “Good morning class,” she began, “Welcome to your first year of Potions, this year we will be learning about potions, potioneers, ingredients, etcetera. I will expect you all to follow directions and produce the best results with your abilities. For this lesson I expect you all to write an essay about what you know about potions.”
Silently looking towards the blackboard, she slipped her wand from the pocket of her robes and gave it a fluid movement followed by a quick flick causing a set of directions to appear on the board.

“Now, I believe I have taken up enough of your class time, you may begin working on your essay now,” Professor Percy said softly as she turned from facing the blackboard back to the students. Watching them for a short period of time, she smiled once more before turning away from the class making her way back to her seat behind her class.

#2 Introduction to Potions
Fall had finally come upon the grounds; it was time for a new topic to teach the students to get them ready to explore the world of potions. Taking a few moments outside to breathe in the fresh Fall air, Professor Percy closed her eyes then breathed in deeply. The sun had only just raised high in the sky, most of the students were still eating their breakfast and others had begun heading back to the dorms to get themselves ready for the day. Turning back to the castle doors, the witch made her way back into the school to make her way to the Potions classroom to prepare for the day before the students arrived.
The clipping of her shoes echoed down the corridors as she briskly walked towards the door leading to the dungeons. Grasping the handle in her hand she carefully swung the door open and began her decent to the classroom. Upon arriving Lina did a quick survey of the classroom before making her way to her desk, pulling the chair away from the table she carefully situated herself into the seat and went over her lesson plan for the day. “Hmm… I should save this portion of the text for the next class,” she spoke softly, as she touched her wand to the parchment she was reading on her desk causing words to completely vanish from the page and the gap be erased by the words moving together.
“The students will be here shortly,” Lina said, looking at the clock on the wall and within seconds of the words coming out of her mouth students began trickling in and filing into their seats.
After the final student had enter into the class and sat in their seat, Professor Percy stood from her seat holding her wand in her hand. “Good morning class,” she said her voice was soft but was clearly heard throughout the classroom, “Today we will learning about potions.” During the pause, she saw many students get excited and watched as they began whispering to their neighbors about what potion they thought they would be learning about.
“Though I am sure most of you will be disappointed in finding out that we will not be brewing any potions today. During this class we will be discussing about the basics of Potions,” tapping her wand on the blackboard as she ed, making her way to the center of the class. Words slowly began forming on the surface of the blackboard in script as she walked into the center of the floor.

Introduction to Potions
Potions (Latin potio, 'beverage') are magical mixtures commonly brewed in cauldrons and used to create a number of effects on the drinker.
________________________________________________
"I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion-making... I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death.”
“Potions… magical concoctions that cause numerous effects for the drinker.” Lina said before pausing, “Who can tell me who is quoted in the statement on the board and what a name of a potion is without looking it up?” she asked. Instantly almost every hand shot into the air, “Mr. Bakker” the professor said softly picking the first hand she saw that was raised. “The quote was from Severus Snape, a former professor here. And one potion is the Antidote to Common Poisons, a simple cure to mundane and simple poisons.” the boy answered quickly putting his hand down on the desk.
“Very good... five points to Gryffindor, now today I want you all to write an essay on the nature of potions. Once completed you can turn it in and head on your way…”she said softly.
“You may begin once the parchment reaches your desk.” With a swift motion the cabinet door opened and a stack of parchment burst into life each taking a form of some sort of small creature and making their way to each student, falling flat onto the desks.

#3 Introduction to Potions Equipment and Tools
Changing the layout of the desks in the class was an easy task, so long as the right spell was known. The desks were now all grouped together and the chairs were stacked high to the ceiling. This class was going to be different from the usual classes as there would be no sitting down. On the combined group of desks sat various types of potions equipment and tools, everything from the cauldron to the stirring stick and even included the books, parchment, quills and ink.
Taking a moment to assess the setup of the classroom, Professor Percy turned her attention to the blackboard behind her. It needed a good cleaning and with a mere whisper, “Scourgify” and a wave of her wand pointing at the backboard, the once chalk smudged board was cleaned like new. Pleased with the look of the classroom, she sat at her desk and awaited the arrival of the first years.
As the first years poured into the classroom, Lina smirked at their bewildered faces as they all stood around the desks wondering what they would do. “Welcome, let us begin,” Professor Percy’s soft voice could be heard echoing around the mounds of tools and equipment.
Standing from her desk, she walked around to the view of the students, “In this class,” she began, “we will be learning about the various types of equipment and tools that are necessary not only in the potions classroom, but also in the potions profession. You may have noticed that I have included books, parchment, quills and ink…” pausing for a moment, “Who can tell me why I would include these items?”
Only a few hands raised high into the air, the quickest hand was that of a spritely Hufflepuff who had positioned herself as close to the front as possible. “Ms. Smith, what is the answer?” Lina asked curiously. “No matter how often or how experienced a potions student or potioneer makes a potion, there are times when studying and notes are needed, for example…” the girl said taking a moment to breathe, “if a witch or wizard is trying to make a new potion, they will need to be able to look back at various ingredients in the text to see what would work together, and then they would need to write or record their research as well as the entire process needed to create the new potion.”
Once the girl had finished her piece, Professor Percy softly clapped her hands together before saying, “Very well said, five points to Hufflepuff. Now, for this class you will come to my desk and pick up a parchment that has various questions about the various potions equipment and tools shown before you. Once you have completed the assignment you may leave back to your common rooms. You may begin.” Instead of heading back to her desk, she positioned herself at the back of the classroom to receive the finished assignments as the students made their way to leave.

#4 Brewing the Cure For Boils
Standing alone in the classroom, Professor Percy carefully gathered out all the ingredients that were needed to brew the Cure for Boils potion. Once she had all necessary ingredients she carefully walked over to a large table that was set up in the front of the class. On top of the table positioned neatly were a stirring stick and ladle, a mortar and pestle, a knife and cutting board, a fire source with a stand to hold the cauldron, a copper cauldron sat upon the stand, a nice brass scale sat by a wicker plate that the witch had set out to hold the ingredients for the potion and finally various sized glass phials sat to the side of the cauldron for the finished product. Carefully she sat all of the ingredients that didn’t need to stay in the jars or phials until use.
Turning to the blackboard she waved her wand in a fluid motion causing the ingredient list and brewing instructions to appear upon the board in clear writing.

#5 Famous Potions Masters
Professor Percy walked gingerly through the threshold of her classroom, the lesson plan for the day was an easy one, at least for her. Smiling she hurried her way to her desk and sat in her chair, waiting for the class to arrive. It was a short wait for Professor Percy before the students began arriving in pairs, staying silent the Hufflepuff watched the students as they made themselves comfortable in their seats.
"Good morning class," Professor Percy began when the last student had taken their place, "Today we will be studying the past Potions Masters that have served here at Hogwarts. This will be a rather easy task because I expect nothing more than an essay on a single Potions Master of your choice. Now... Take a look at the blackboard," as she instructed the students with a fluid flick of her wand words began curling their way onto the blackboard to the left of her.

#7 Field Trip; Collecting Ingredients
Dieanica Evermore walked down the hallway. She was in a hurry. Dieanica had been asked to fill in for Professor Percy. Her shoes clicked on the floor faster and faster. Until finally the noise stopped. Dieanica took a deep breath and opened the door. "Good Morning everyone!!" Dieanica said happily as she walked to the front. Dieanica smiled at everyone.
"Now I know I am not your normal teacher but have no fear we are still doing what she has planned." Dieanica said as she pulled out her wand. "Right follow me please." Dieanica said as she lead the class from the room.
Finally they arrived at there destination. "Alright grab hold. Hold on tight and don't let go until I say." Dieanica said as she grabbed hold of the jacket.
As soon as everyone had there hands on it they were zipped off. "Alright let go." Dieanica said as she gracefully touched the ground.
Dieanica smiled as she watched the students dust themselves off. "Well here we are. I want you to make a potion you have learned about out of the ingredients you find here. Everything you need is here." Dieanica said happily as she watched the students rush off.

#8 Studying the Wiggenweld Potion
Professor Percy sat silently at her desk as she prepared for the lesson of the day. Sighing, she looked around her desk before speaking, "Something more," pulling out her wand she silently called forth a small crystal vial which she opened releasing a small opeque gas cloud, with another silent flick of her wand a small breeze pushed its way through the classroom. Within the matter of seconds the little cloud has dispersed and now a soothing smell of spring filled the air.
As the student's arrived Lina waved her wand once more causing the chalk to elegantly etch the words...

...onto the blackboard. Smiling, she waited for the last student to take their place in their seat. "Alright," she whispered to herself as she stood from her seat, "Good morning class," Professor Percy began, "Your assignment will be to gather information about the Wiggenweld Potion then in your own words write an essay about the potion. So as to not take up much of your research time, I will end my part here and you may begin." Taking her place once again in her seat, the Hufflepuff sat silently watching as the students worked on the assignment.

#9 Brewing the Antidote to Common Poisons
Standing alone in the classroom, Professor Percy carefully gathered up all the ingredients that were needed to brew the Antidote to Common Poisons. Once she had all necessary ingredients she carefully walked over to a large table that was set up in the front of the class. On top of the table positioned neatly were a stirring stick and ladle, a mortar and pestle, a knife and cutting board, a fire source with a stand to hold the cauldron, a copper cauldron sat upon the stand, a nice brass scale sat by a wicker plate that the witch had set out to hold the ingredients for the potion and finally variously sized glass phials sat to the side of the cauldron for the finished product. Carefully she sat all of the ingredients that didn’t need to stay in the jars or phials until use.
Turning to the blackboard she waved her wand in a fluid motion causing the ingredient list and brewing instructions to appear on the board in clear writing.

Once the class had arrived and taken their seats Professor Percy began speaking. “Good morning class, during this lesson you will be brewing the Antidote to Common Poisons. As you can see I have made it a bit easier for you to know the instructions and ingredients to make the potion. Before I allow you to begin brewing the potion, I will demonstrate the proper way to make the potion.” Following each step exactly, Professor Percy carefully brewed the potion for the class.
Upon finishing the demonstration for the students, she scanned the class and spoke in a soft but authoritative voice, “Now that you have seen how to brew the potion, I expect you all to do it correctly... As a bonus whoever finishes their potion and answers this one question will get extra credit... How do we get Bezoars? With that, you may begin!” Professor Percy began to carefully fill the largest crystal phials with the potion.

#10 End of Year Review
Professor Percy slowly made her way to the Potions classroom at the end of the long corridor in the dungeons, the year was coming to an end and soon all of the students would be taking their final exams. The witch had thought long and hard about what she had expected the class to do for their end of year review and only one thing seemed to be appropriate. Coming upon the door, she gently pushed the weighted door open and was once again engulfed in the smells from all the potions ingredients throughout the class. Taking a little extra time she stepped past each desk recalling each student she had to see through the year sitting in the seats and smiled warmly.
The time had come for the students to begin filing into the classroom when she had sat in the chair at her desk. Watching each student enter the room seemed to be bittersweet, but she was most excited to see how much the students had actually learned this year. Once the last student had settled themselves into their seat, Professor Percy stood from her seat and made her way around to the front of the desk.
Leaning herself back to rest against the tabletop of the wooden desk, the Hufflepuff looked around the classroom at the students and smile before speaking, “Good morning class,” her words were soft but easily heard, “This is your last lesson before the exams and because of that, we will be doing reviews. I want you all to look back at the year and find the potion you struggled the most with making and brew that exact potion once again. I expect that you will have success this time so long as you your core instructions and do not falter. Now… You may begin.” Turning away from the students, Professor Lina returned to her seat and began constructing the exams for the end of the year.
