A mask I wear upon my face

It hides my thoughts without a trace

The world can’t see what’s deep inside

Behind this mask, I choose to hide

A smile it shows, but tears may fall

No one can see my truth at all

I wear it strong, I wear it proud

But in my heart, I shout out loud

The mask is safe, it keeps me still

But one day, I will show my will

I’ll take it off, let myself be

And show the world the real me
