Grinch Booktag

This book tag was created by @thoughtsontomes on youtube. It was a really interesting Christmas themed bok tag. I am tagging any of you who would like to do this tag. I have complete this and want to warn that there is a pretty big spoiler for the Red Queen series. So if you have not read this please do not read this or skip the question where I tell you that it is coming.

Name a book/series/character that started out good but then went downhill

This is a hard one for me to answer. I would have to say Mare Barrow from the Red Queen Series. I started out loving her but after the third book, I have lost a lot of that love. It has been a  roller coaster for Mare and I think that she has lost a lot of herself in the last few books.

Name a book that you didn't enjoy, but everyone else seems to love so it never goes away

Ummm. . .

I will say Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare. Now I will say that it has been some time since I read this book and I don’t much. But from what I do I did not love it as much as everyone seems to. I am hoping to reread it and love it though.

Name a character that kept messing things up for everyone else (can't pick a villain!)

Mr. Poe from The Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. He is not trying to mess everything up for everyone, but he does. He is just unperceptive when it comes to the children.

Name a book you were spoiled for

Honestly, there is not one I was spoiled for. I usually try to stay away from spoilers of any book that I remotely think that I want to read.

Name the main character you just couldn't connect with

For this, I will say Feyre from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. I am hoping that would change but it might not. She to me seems to complain a lot about nothing really.

Name a couple you couldn't stand

Jane and Red Jack from Dread Nation by Justina Ireland. They to me seem like two people that shouldn’t be together. Red Jack seems to be super manipulative and controlling. I think that Jane deserves more than that.

show some books that have been sitting on your shelves for a while, and you aren't motivated to read, but you don't have the heart to get rid of

I would say The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray. It has been on my shelves since high school. While, yes one day I want to read this, but I have no desire to do this before any other on my TBR shelf.

Name a character death you still are mad about (warn people for spoilers! You can also use TV or movie deaths)

So this is so SPOILERY!! IF YOU HAVE NEVER READ The Red Queen Series OR IF YOU HAVE NOT READ Glass Sword DO NOT READ THE REST OF THIS ANSWER!!!

With that out of the way the death that I found extremely excruciating was Shade Barrow in Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard. Shade was such a good character. I loved him so much. When he died I cried and couldn’t read for about a week. I was devastated.

Name a series that has too many books in it/went on too long

The Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. I think that this series could have been done in 10 books instead of 13.

Name the main character you HATE (No villains again!)

There isn’t one that comes to mind. I am the type of reader that usually distastes the main character.  If I do at first I grow to love them at the end of it all.
