Hi welcome to my first ever blog on the yandere simulator Animo! Since this is my first ever post, I wanted to share my experience and how I first discovered the game and what I liked about it! Without further ado, I hope you enjoy.

2015

The way I actually discovered the game was through a different game, Minecraft. Back in 2015. I used to watch a bunch of Minecraft videos and one of them popped on in feed by the YouTube channel “It’s Funneh” the original title changed by the thumbnail remains somewhat the same. I “senpai” was in the title and I had no clue what that was. Anyway I watched it, really liked the roleplay series and I looking in the description to see what game it was based on and I saw “Yandere Simulator” out of curiosity I looked up let’s plays of the game and I then discovered the game from there.

** Fun Side Note: Because of Yandere Simulator I also discovered my love for anime since with Yandere Simulator a lot of people compared it with the anime series Future Diary which from that I also checked out and discovered I loved anime as well**

2016

From here I become more acquainted with the Yandere simulator fan base and I began watching Yandere Devs videos discussing development, discovered the Kubz Scouts and started watching his YouTube channel as well, and all around loved watching any content similar to the anime troupe or anything that related to the game. I the game was super popular around this time with a bunch of YouTubers making videos on the game. Around this time I also checked out other roleplay series based on the topic like Samgladiator, and Carflo and his friends series as well. My love for indie horror also originated around this time.

2017 / 2018

By this time I was still a very avid fan of the game, still checking on the Yandere Simulator channel & still watching the Kubz Scouts play the game. By this point as well my interests also expanded to other games, however I still kept up to date with the progress of the game.

2019 - 2023

Throughout 2019 to just about presently I took a break from the game, particularly because I grew up and my interests differed however I’d still check in now and then. Recently out of nostalgia and curiosity I checked back with the game and the fan base only to find after all this time I still have a love for the game. I was pleasantly surprised to find new game modes like 1980’s mode implemented and I really liked revisiting all the old things I liked when I was younger.

What did I originally like about the game?

When I first discovered the game I loved the concept of the Yandere trope from a story standpoint, since I personally love murder mystery type stories in fiction. I also thought the ideal of playing as the villain/killer was an interesting game play concept. Not to mention the anime like setting was also super interesting and cool as well.

What got me re-interested in the game / fandom?

Even though me keeping up with the game faded through the years, my love for anime hasn’t changed. Recently I was explaining to my boyfriend how I got interested anime to begin with and from there I ed the game Yandere simulator and from there I looked up Yandere Dev’s channel and I recently got back into the fandom again which inspired me to make this blog.
