Dear You, It’s Me — Still Me

You probably think I’m just another name on a list now. A cautionary tale. A story with a full stop. Joe Goldberg, behind bars, forgotten or feared. But I’m still here. And I’m still watching. Still thinking. Still very much alive.

Prison — it’s a different kind of cage. You’d think it’d be all bars and boredom, but you’d be wrong. This place is a library of human nature. A theater of contradictions, secrets, and desperate lies. And me? I’m the audience and the director. The voyeur and the storyteller. I have plenty of time to observe, to reflect — to learn things no book ever taught me.

They say the mind is the last thing to go when the body is confined. I’m proof of that. I read. I write. I every face, every story. Every whispered secret. I analyze. I strategize. Because survival isn’t just about muscles or fists here. It’s about knowing who’s really dangerous — and who’s just pretending.

But I’m not just surviving. I’m thriving. In my own way. This cage hasn’t silenced me; it’s sharpened me.

So here’s what I want to do: I want to send you updates. Letters from the inside. Because even behind these walls, stories don’t stop. They only change chapters.

What can you expect? Reflections on this strange, cold world. Musings on justice, punishment, and what it really means to be free. Observations about the people around me — some more interesting than others. And maybe, if you’re lucky, a peek into what’s going on inside this head you thought you knew.

Consider this my way of reaching out — maybe to you, maybe to the world, maybe just to myself. Because despite everything, I still crave connection. Maybe that’s the real sentence.

I’ll tell you one thing: I’m not done yet. The story isn’t over. Not by a long shot.

Until next time,

Joe
