I think that Atem and Yugi would’ve meet during one of Yugi’s trips to Egypt. Yugi probably will be shopping in the market for some presents for his family and while iring the present he just brought, he bumped into someone. That someone will be Atem. Atem and Yugi will be around the same age, Atem two years older. At first Atem will just suggest his help for choosing presents and they’ll just share small talk and after that they started to meet more often and soon became good friends. After few years of being friends, Atem was the first to confess his feelings for Yugi. In two years they married in Egypt and had a happy life.
