After a long courtship, Paula married her childhood friend Dennek. They were an unstoppable couple, protecting and serving Zora's Domain for countless years. With spears in hand they defeated enemies great and terrible. Eventually Paula gave birth to Corla, and they lived all together for many happy and fulfilling years.

As Corla grew up, Dennek taught her the spear, and Paula discovered Corla's natural affinity for lighting magic. Paula had always loved collecting gemstones, and trying to bring out the power within each. While showing them to Corla, a topaz gem resonated with her, causing sparks to fly. Dennek was thrilled and encouraged Corla to develope those magical powers. Paula was less enthusiastic, wanting her daughter to stay out of conflict.

One fateful day, Paula and Dennek were patrolling the outskirts of Zora's Domain, when they were caught in a flash flood and land slide. Half of the mountain came crashing down all around them, and Paula barely escaped with her life. However, her beloved Dennek was crushed by a boulder.

Paula held her dying husband but was powerless to save him. That day, Paula swore off the spear and dedicated herself to learning the healing arts.

A century has ed since Dennek's death, and Paula has reformed herself into the spiritual leader she is today.
