Skyward Sword

Stabil once had a loving family, living in the lowlands with his parents until the Demise happened. His mother fled with him as his father ed the legions of loyal soldiers in the name of Hylia.

However, she gave the youth to the group of Hylians bestowed to become Skyloftians as her injuries from her relentless journey to save her child were too grave for her to carry on. From that day forward, he was orphaned and lives in a house with the other children.

After moving to Skyloft sometime later, Stabil realised that much of the world around him seems a little too big for him. Doors are a constant challenge, and reaching for things from the counter requires a bit of climbing effort.

Being unable to enjoy being at least 5ft made him feel a little dependent on others, something that makes him feel guilty as a result.

Though he is making great strides in creating things to help address his stumpy stature, he is more than often helped by Link when he needs a helping hand.

Appearence

Stabil is a short, stubby lad, standing quite under 3ft 5. He hasn't gotten the best in of childhood. Thus, his potential for physical growth has been scuppered.

His hair is hazel brown, plus ahoge, with a pale complexion with green eyes and the signature pointy ears of his race.

His casual outfit composes of a green shirt, with a white long-sleeved undershirt with a turtleneck collar, brown leather bandand a loose amulet of the Triforce, khaki-green cargo shorts held up by a belt and with ankle high boots.

He also sports arms end in either engineering gloves or padded gauntlets. Wrapped around his forehead are oversized wielding bubble-shaped goggles with a green bandana.

During his time in the Sky Knight Academy, he wears their uniform where his vest is replaced with a similarly coloured tunic, and his favourite eyewear stretched around and over the base of his windsock cap.

Personality

Stabil is bright and clever, who likes to tinker with machinery and create convenient things to help him in life.

Extremely curious and very attentive, his emerald eyes are quick to point out finer details and faults that his peers might have missed. He also is alluded to shiny things; mostly rupees whilst having no understanding of them as a monetary system.

He is a loyal pal to Link, does everything to protect him. (If not, including pranking Groose whenever he chooses to bully him.)

Otherwise, he's downright friendly and enjoys the social life of Skyloft. Together with his foster brother, he enjoys the lifestyle in the clouds.

He's very carefree and open-minded, however, and is willing to do both evil and good sided things in the eyes of either side. He also has a stammer, which is a hampered speech. So he can only speak in stutters. A problem caused by his poor upbringing.

One of his more prominent traits is the fact that he is extremely sensitive about his height. The boy has a height stent, so even if he grows into the elder years, he'd barely reach into the golden age of just 4 ft. As of such, it became the subject of bullying from his taller brethren. Even to a point that he has developed an intolerance towards the remarks.

In response, those who'd dare question or call him all sorts of height-challenged nicknames may get the business end of either a fist, a foot or just simple yelling as he barks all kinds of stammered insults back at you.

He can and will punch or kick you in the balls if he has to, depending on how mad you got him to. So try not to invoke this deep-seated resentment.

Abilities

Stabil is very innovative when it comes to solving problems and often deals with them through the use of his gift in machines. As such, he can disable Beamos and other automations or even turn them against their enemies.

Being a fresh recruit as a Sky Knight, Stabil lacks the training to use a sword but has competent use of his homemade crossbow Galljahorn. While slower than Link's traditional bow, the crossbow packs a stronger punch and more accuracy. Combined with bombs, he extends the power of his bolts.

He is also very alert and attentive, given his dedication to a clean and tidy bedroom. But also can sense dangers, and point them out, well before they can become a problem to him and his friends; Going as far as picking out the distinct outline of an invisible enemy faster tham his peers.

Four Leaf Clover.

Clover is Stabil's loyal Loftwing, having met her during his early training years. While not as rare and exquisitive as a Crimson Loftwing, an Emerald Loftwing is seen to be a symbol of great fortune, which might foretell Stabil's run-in with the Triforce.

Smaller than average Loftwings, Clover is faster and more agile due to less weight. Inexperienced and very young, she is not yet confident, as the rest of her kind, but her connection with her rider yields natural talent that cuts across years of skill.

Breath of the Wild (Legacy)

"As part of Robbie's hard work, I found a way to cheapen the deal with those pesky Guardians. It takes a different approach, so I'd be careful with it."

In the world of Breath of the Wild, Stabil's origins remained unknown, but his somewhat small stature and lack of communication skills may have been linked to some of his upbringing being spent within the Korok Forest; Even finding himself wounding up there. He spent much of his kindergarten years learning how to forage and speak limited hylian from the forest spirits' and their time with humans.

While he had enjoyed living in the enchanted forest, by the time he reached 14 years old, Stabil finally left the koroks' care and left to explore Hyrule, in hopes of finding a new home, until he was discovered by Robbie and took him on as apprentice; After he was found dismantling, and residing inside, the hollow shell of a Guardian Stalker.

In the Akkala lab, Stabil's acute attention to detail was beneficial to the senior scientist and his work; Often undoing kinks found that he would've missed. While he proved to be a valued asset in Robbie's research, the senior scientist's engrossment in research had often omitted him from properly raising a child; As a result, Stabil was often forced to make his own needs met during frequent field trips; Foraging and cooking out in the wild. All while studying remnants of ancient sheikah technology, the guardians' hardware, and the other secrets of their past.

Getting by, he produced and utilised his own paraglider to fly across the skies, hand crafting maps to sell on to travellers and merchants. Using a reverse-engineered Sheikah Slate to plot and draw out important topography. It earned him the nickname 'Tingle' while he insisted on 'The Flying Cartographer'.

The Flying Cartographer

"Best Eye... in... the Sky, best... maps ever scribed. One... copy...for 20 Rupees, you... won't believe... it till... you try!"

During his time with Robbie, Stabil created a Sheikah Eternaglider, a large parachute canopy laced with such technology that provided near-true flight that the Rito took pride in Riding on the wind currents, Stabil could remain aloft for a lengthy amount of time.

A business venture with his powerful sense in detail, Stabil uses his Eternaglider to give him an exceptional view of his surroundings; Useung his homemade Sheikah Slate to help provide most of his maps' details via Sheikah Towers, the rest is his noting of landmarks and other distinguishable features.

Because this involves spending a lot of time floating in the air, he dons a fur lined leather vest and hood to keep him warm at altitude. His backpack includes a chest restraint and provides a leg rest, held up by the control ropes, relying on the parachute canopy to keep him aloft and guided throughout his mapping.

Travellers signal him if they wish to buy one of his wares, either be waving or (more rudely) pelt him with a stone. He would be willing to sell his work to honest buyers. They nickname him The Flying Cartographer, or Tingle, cheekily.

It is rumoured that he uncovered tales of a wannabe fairy, kept aloft by a balloon who maps out regions for ersby. Without such access, he relies on his glider instead7
