"Tiāndì, nǐ hái jìdé nàxiē guàiwù ma?" A soft womans voice echoed. An image of tiandi standing in front of her mother. "Nǐ zhème pà de guàiwù.." flashing images of her mother handing her a silk strip. "Dāng nǐ kūqì shí, wǒ yòng tā ānwèi nǐ." A flashed memory of her mother's smile.
Tiandi would awaken. She would hear crickets and rustling of leaves. The dark forest would amplify the screaming she heard in the distance. She grabbed her staff which disappeared in her hand before going to investigate. She'd see dead bodies glow as they were hung or pinned against trees. Little twigs cracked under her boots as she shivered. All of the people were familiar to her. She got to the edge of the trees. She saw herself standing in front of her. Only this version had blood on her hands. This other projection of her turned back to her before Tiandi saw black.
One last time shed woken up. She was still standing there crying. But the other image of her was not there. She looked back and saw there was no bodies. "Its all my fault..." she cries falling to her knees. She found the gold hemmed silk strip that shed dropped. She ran her fingers upon it. She felt the comfort of her mother with her black silk robe hugging her when she closed her eyes.
"Mommy.. do you the monsters? The ones that I used to be so afraid of.. you used this to comfort me when I cried at night" she says, clutching the strip of silk. "I will teach them peace."
