#WrestlingMeans Community Event: Against All Odds

In this crazy world of professional wrestling there is a lot to digest and a lot to know. For example the amount of times someone has held a championship or who was in the main event of Wrestlemania 11. It takes a very long time to learn the ins and outs of professional wrestling. And although a lot of the information may be hard to retain I feel that it is easy to pick up on who a bad guy is in a story and who the good guy is. A lot of the time when a story is told correctly the good guy provides a sense of hope that against all odds you can do anything. So to elaborate on this I’m going to give a couple of examples.

NEVER GIVE UP

I feel like no one fits the mold of what I previously stated more than John Cena. Cena’s whole career has been filled with trials and tribulations. From being almost fired at the beginning of his WWE run to losing the biggest match of his career against The Rock. We have seen John lose in seconds to The Undertaker and we have seen him get German suplexed sixteen times by Brock Lesnar. But through all of that Johns message had always remained the same. NEVER.GIVE.UP. This has ultimately been something throughout my life that has provided me hope. Through three simple words John has proved that against all odds you can do anything.

YES! YES! YES!

In the summer of 2013 Daniel Bryan was the biggest star in professional wrestling. But before his SummerSlam match with John Cena I don’t think any of us could’ve predicted the rollercoaster of a story the WWE was about to take us on. Against all the odds of the Wyatt Family and The Authority and all the other dumb bullshit that he had to go through to get to Wrestlemania Daniel Bryan would still go on to win and become the WWE Undisputed Champion proving that if you fight for what you believe in you can make it to the top of the mountain.

KOFIMANIA

In 2019 Kofi Kingston was met with the opportunity of a life time. Taking the place of an injured Mustafa Ali in the elimination chamber, Kofi was put in this match as simply a last minute replacement but what was to come was truly special. Kofi would against all the odds of Vince screwing him over multiple times and eco friendly Daniel Bryan being a thorn in his side along with Eric Rowan, go on to win the World Championship at Wrestlemania and prove that his eleven years of hard work was worth it.

Conclusion

Now I’m sure there are many other examples of this happening throughout wrestling history but these are ones that are special to me. At the end of the day what wrestling means to me is that against all the odds and when everything is stacked against you it is still possible to achieve your goals and be successful. I hope you all enjoyed this lil blog here and will give it a like… like please….. pretty please….. no like seriously this took a lot of brain power thx.
