𝚆𝚎𝚕𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚊𝚗𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚙𝚘𝚜𝚝 ♡

For June, the month of Pride and the theme of MAE, I decided to go with the pairing of America Chavez and Kate Bishop from the Young Avengers

𝙷𝚒𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚛𝚢

America Chavez

America Chavez is Marvel’s first Latin-American LGBT+ superhero in a prominent role. She was born in an alternate universe called the Utopian Parallel by her two moms, where she developed her powers. When she was six, America’s moms were forced to sacrifice themselves in order to save their Universe, which jump-started America’s new life as a superhero under the moniker Miss America. America possesses superhuman strength, the power of flight and the ability to punch through realities. She’s been apart of teams such as The Team Brigade, Young Avengers, A-Force, and the Ultimates, among others. She even becomes Captain America in some comic lines. Overall, she’s snarky, badass and a lot of fun and I absolutely adore her.

Kate Bishop

Kate Bishop is the third character and the first female to go under the name of Hawkeye. She’s an excellent archer and martial artist, as well ad being highly skilled with a sword. She works alongside America in Young Avengers and West Coast Avengers. She has a long history within the Marvel Comics, and received training by Clint Barton. Her sexuality is not confirmed, however she and America are pretty close, with America calling Kate “Princess” before flirting with her, and with Kate kissing America on the cheek. It’s a very popular fan ship and therefore I felt good including it.

As someone who has attended Pride five times, it is an event that brings me a lot of joy and makes me feel welcome. I went to my local Pride with my girlfriend and her two friends, also a couple. Therefore, I chose that setting, though it’s kinda hard to tell haha!

𝙿𝚛𝚒𝚍𝚎 𝙵𝚕𝚊𝚐𝚜

America is sporting the orange and pink Lesbian pride flag and POC rainbow pride flag on her cheek. Kate is wearing the Bisexual flag on her sunglasses, cheek and jean patch. The other clothes were designed around stuff they may wear elsewhere, especially America’s shorts, jacket and necklace and Kate’s signature purple.
