Another BTS music video has risen up the ranks of their impressive YouTube record!

On January 5 at approximately 8 a.m. KST, the music video for “Save Me” sured 550 million views on YouTube. “Save Me” was released on May 15, 2016, making it about four years, seven months, and 20 days that it took the music video to hit the milestone.

This is BTS’s tenth music video to reach 550 million views, after “Dynamite,” “DNA,” “Fire,”” Fake Love,” “MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix),” “Boy With Luv,” “IDOL,” “Dope,” and “Blood Sweat & Tears.”

BTS has broken a record for all-Korean acts in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100!

Billboard has now announced that BTS’s “Dynamite” rises to No. 5 on the January 9-dated Hot 100 chart, which ranks songs from all genres based on U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay, and sales data.

This is the 13th non-consecutive week that “Dynamite” has grabbed a Top 10 spot on the chart. The previous record for most weeks in the Top 10 of the Hot 100 for a song by an all-Korean act was held by PSY’s 2012 track “Gangnam Style” after 12 non-consecutive weeks.

The 13 weeks that “Dynamite” has spent in the Top 100 include three weeks at No. 1 and four weeks at No. 2. The hit single has been on the overall chart for a total of 19 weeks so far. The record for the longest time on the chart for an all-Korean act’s song is 31 weeks, achieved by “Gangnam Style.”

This week, “Dynamite” also scores a 12th frame at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart after 45,000 sales during the tracking week, up 183 percent.

Meanwhile, “Dynamite” rises to No. 1 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart this week, with 50 million streams and 16,000 sold in territories outside the United States during the week of December 25 to 31. The ranking shows the biggest hits based on streaming and sales data from more than 200 territories around the world, excluding the United States, and “Dynamite” takes the top spot for a record-extending seventh total week. On the Global 200 chart (which includes worldwide data), “Dynamite” also soars to No. 3 from No. 12 last week.

Billboard’s charts for the week will be updated on its website on January 5.

BTS’s “Dynamite” set a new record on YouTube for Korean group music videos!

The MV for BTS’s “Dynamite” was released on August 21, 2020 at 1 p.m. KST and it hit 750 million views by 2:25 a.m. KST on January 5. This means it took about four months and 14 days to achieve the feat.

“Dynamite” beats the previous record for fastest Korean group MV to hit 750 million views, which was held by another group reaching the milestone in nine months and 27 days.

BTS now has six music video that have sured 750 million views, also including “DNA,” “Boy With Luv,” “Fake Love,” “IDOL,” and “MIC Drop.”

2021 is just getting started, so for now, the biggest songs in the U.S. aren’t brand new releases from superstars, but rather older cuts that continue to hold on. In fact, a number of those sturdy smashes gain ground on several Billboard charts now that the Chrtismas season has ed and the classics that surge every December have started to disappear.

While Billboard hasn’t yet published its weekly Digital Song Sales ranking (it will be made public tomorrow, January 5), Nielsen Music has shared its raw data that will be used to compile that list, and the two always match up perfectly. According to information shared a short time ago by the numbers-driven company, BTS don’t just kick off 2021 by holding at No. 1 yet again, they also bookend the top 10 with a pair of major hits.

Leading the way on tomorrow’s Digital Song Sales chart will be BTS’s “Dynamite,” which has turned out to be one of the biggest successes in the ranking’s history. The cut, which has now racked up at least a dozen turns at No. 1, keeps in first place by selling more than 45,000 copies. That’s a healthy sum for any title at any point, but for “Dynamite” it’s truly shocking, as the song has been selling at least ten thousands of copies almost every frame since it was released in September.

In the four and a half months since “Dynamite” was first made available, it has sold 1.256 million actual copies in the U.S. alone.

Down at No. 10, a slightly older favorite among BTS fans returns to the Digital Song Sales chart, reappearing inside the top 10. “Stay,” one of eight tracks featured on the South Korean band’s most recent full-length BE, makes a triumphant comeback to the tally thanks to the fact that nearly 6,300 followers purchased the tune in the past tracking frame. The track originally made it to No. 3 on the list when it first arrived, as almost every track on the set became an instant bestseller. “Stay” has found its way back to the highest tier on the roster, and it has now sold over 68,000 copies since it was released in late November.

BTS is the only musical act to claim more than one spot inside the top 10 on the coming Digital Song Sales chart this week, and they rule over a fairly quiet frame, as only a few new cuts appear on the list.

The majority of South Korean musicians who have made a noticeable impact on the American Billboard charts (aside from the World Digital Song Sales ranking, which seems to regularly be dominated by the biggest names from that part of the world) are groups, though just a handful of soloists have also landed successful songs and albums. In just the past few years, a number of names have started making noticeable appearances on the most important lists, such as the Billboard and Hot 100, as well as genre-specific tallies.

This week, one South Korean star appears on a Billboard radio ranking reserved for the biggest pop musicians in the business, which is now a title that fits him as well.

Suga, known primarily for his work as one of seven of BTS, earns his first hit on Billboard’s Pop Songs chart this time around, and by doing so, he makes history among his countrymen.

The singer-songwriter s collaborator MAX on the track “Blueberry Eyes,” which this frame arrives at No. 40 on the 40-rung tally which ranks the cuts that reach the largest audience on a number of Top 40 radio stations across the U.S. The tune isn’t yet a massive hit on the tally, but by appearing at all, Suga has doubled the number of South Korean solo musicians who have landed on the list at any point.

The only other South Korean artist working on their own who has reached the Pop Songs chart is Psy, who broke barriers with his world-dominating viral sensation “Gangnam Style.” That song, which helped introduce millions of people to the electronic pop music coming out of the Asian nation at the start of this past decade, once lifted all the way to No. 10 on the ranking.

“Gangnam Style” still stands as the highest-ranking track among solo South Korean acts in Pop Songs history. Just one other single by any act from the country has pushed further, as BTS’s “Dynamite” lifted to No. 5 earlier this year.

Psy and Suga will surely be ed by other South Korean solo musicians at some point in the future, but for the moment, the two sit alone in this very special, very exclusive club.
