Hi, my name is Nix.
My Spiritual Practice :seedling:
I am a natural born witch and was born into a closed tradition. I'm practice celtic magick.
My focus & area of most experience is earth magick and elemental magick. :crystal_ball: I also have many traditions within my family's bloodline.
My Path 👣
I've been practicing my entire life. I was partially raised pagan and participated in many rites. I would describe myself as spiritual :sparkles: I was swayed away from my spirituality for several years due to some wild circumstances but in the last 8 years I've been able to learn alot more and practice how I wish. In the last few years I've had some spiritual awakenings and have started on my journey to shamanism and healing.
Holy Days :calendar:
I observe the esbats and full moons as well as the sabats of the wheel of the year. I also celebrate earth day.
Areas of study :book:
I'm interested in demonology, crystal magick, and I am also interested in shamanism. I use oracle and tarot cards, runes and i do pendulum work.
Favorite thing about practice :purple_heart:
My relationship with the earth is very strong and runs deep. I'm grateful for that. :seedling:
I would like to develop more of a community 🫂 and I ed Amino to make more community and share my traditions, and to hopefully learn more
A little more about me.
I'm 26 and I studied psychology and philosophy in college.
I am a writer and an artist :art:
I have a cat named Sparrow, Po for short, she is almost a year old. :cat2: ⬛
I live in the pacific northwest :evergreen_tree: :ocean:
I so look forward to getting to know everyone!

Welcome and nice to meet you 🤗
Thank you Suz!
Shamanism is an outdated term, both anthropologically and magically. “Shaman” is a term specifically from Siberian indigenous culture; if your practice is not based in those traditions you are not a “shaman”.
Many ritual specialists (as is the current anthro term) are chosen through a specific sign, the details of which depend on the culture. Some rely on the outcome of a vision quest, some require a near-death experience, some are considered “chosen” because they were born with a caul. No matter which custom marks one’s status as a ritual specialist, they all must learn formally from the elders & ritual specialists in their community. Most of the groups that have a ritual specialist are indigenous. If you are not a part of any indigenous group, you will likely be unable to become a “shaman” or ritual specialist. I recommend looking into hedge witchcraft; it is the closest available path to “shamanism” that I’ve found in modern witchcraft.
Thank you for the information. With all due respect, I am being led by an elder shaman within my tradition in which I was born.
hey there! welcome to our community, it's nice to meet you! :raised_hands: 🏻
