this is such an interesting blog to work on. i'm excited to show you the songs that i've picked for jiyong to cover. i tried to cover a variety of genres with the three songs that i've decided on. they're all in different languages. the first one is 'dunie' by ninety one, then 'shinda' by masayoshi oishi and 'all we need' by witchz.

Dunie - Ninety One

starting with the first one. 91 is a kazakh group who i've known and loved for many years already. i didn't like them in the beginning for whatever reason, but i'm still here enjoying their music as if i've just found them. their album 'gap' is full of amazing songs including 'dunie'. that's one of the laid-back, yet still exciting bsides. it's fun to listen to. it has a calm vibe to it, but they've added a playful melody to it. that makes listening to this very happy-making. it's an easy song to listen to. it feels so light and sweet. it gives us their stunning vocals and charismatic rap parts. plus a choir ending which i love. i went for this to give jiyong a positive sounding song to cover. a song that makes people smile and feel comforted. he has breathtaking vocals, so of course he would do so well with a song like this. he can give us the confident songs, but him with this music style is one of a kind. i can see this style suiting him so well. plus a video to this would be full of happy jiyong. i'm imagining a live clip for this which would leave us all speechless. he's an all-rounder. we know that he can sing and rap, so he would cover every part in this song in a unique way. 91 themselves have a unique style, so it would be interesting to hear jiyong add his own twist to this song. it would be exciting.

Shinda - Masayoshi Oishi

then the second song is 'shinda' by masayoshi oishi. i've recently found this song in a game that i've played and i'm in love. that short part that was played caught my interest so much and now i'm helplessly in love. this has spooky, halloween vibes to it and it's so captivating to listen to. this sounds really unique and fun. i always have a good time listening to this. we know that jiyong can give us an endless variety of concepts which is why he would deliver with this. don't ask me, but i can totaly see him covering this song in his own style. him and spooky concepts combined with his uniqueness go crazy. he would find a way to surprise us with this. i think that the energy suits him so well. plus he would go all out with his facial expressions and making sure to share that mysterious vibe. i think this suits early jiyong better, than jiyong now if that makes sense. that doesn't mean, he wouldn't leave us all speechless now. plus this being a song that shows a variety of vocal skills and singing techniques, he would shine. don't ask me again, but he would serve!! now i kind of big times want to see this cover happening. it would be very interesting to say the least.

All We Need - Witchz

lastly, i've picked another unique song for him to cover. in fact it's 'all we need' by witchz. one day, i had a song of his in my recommendations, so of course i've clicked on it. witchz easily is one of the most unique artists that i've ever discovered. his music sounds so different, so mesmerizing and creative. his artistry is breathtaking. i love how he expresses himself. i wouldn't even know the proper words to best describe his music, let alone this song. however, if you listen to this, then maybe you'll get why i've decided on this. i can imagine jiyong to cover this. it's a calm song with a slightly upbeat melody to it. we have unique beats and a mysterious atmosphere to it. we have a spooky music style which gets ed by mind-blowing vocals, insane instrumentals and impressive singing techniques. witchz never fails to amaze me. somehow this screams jiyong to me. i always think that some songs shouldn’t be covered, because they're too special, too unique. however, it would be interesting to hear jiyong give this a chance. he would probably end up surprising us big times. i have no clue what he would do with this song and how the cover would be like, but i'm here for it. i need to know it?! no, honestly jiyong's vocals, insane facial expressions and breathtaking existence would so really well with this.

anyway, that's it with my covers. i don't know if any of this made sense, but i do want to hear him cover these songs. it would be exciting and interesting. do let me know if anyone agrees with me on this ksjs :eyes:

Rusty Cage - Sound Garden

All I want is more rock songs from Daesung because I feel like he’d be great at them. Rusty Cage is such an amazing song because of both the interesting instrumentals and Chris Cornell’s voice. The more I listened to it, the more it reminded me of Dae ; whether it was I could hear their similar vocals or I just really wanted to hear Dae cover this song, I had to include it somewhere. This song is something that Dae could make his own, though I think just him covering it just how he is more than perfect. He’d make this song even more of an ear worm.

Papa Lapped a Pap Lopped - Gackt

Personally I think many Gackt songs could have fit but this specific song just seemed to be the best one. Everything about it screams Dae to me, from the more upbeat rock melody to just the way the song is, it just sounds like something that would slide perfectly into Dae’s discography. The way Gackt sings it is truly chefs kiss but knowing how Dae would probably sing it is truly even more perfection. Essentially, Dae should venture into more rock-ish songs.

Man in the Meadow - Duff McKagan

I love this song because it tells a story while wrapping you in a wave of an emotion through the whole song, almost as if you’re in that story the singer is wanting you to listen to. It’s a story I think Dae could easily translate with his voice if he did a cover of this song. It’s a melancholic rock song and there are plenty of melancholic songs like that in Dae’s discography so this is right up his alley… minus the rock part. I know let Dae isn’t very well known for certain genres of music, but this song is a perfect fit for him and I would love a cover.

In the Mean Time - Space Hog

This song is the odd one out for this list, but, I think it fits more in line with Dae and his regular style of music…sort of? The instrumentals are funky (not in a funk way but in a funky weird way) and the vocals are sort of all over the place, but the range of what’s happening is all stuff I think Dae could do and would love to hear him do! The song has a theme about being alienated which I’m certain anybody can relate to all while being wrapped up in an interesting way to say it. Like I said, I’d love to hear him cover this song :)

Lady, Deixa-Te Levar - TT

I know this will sound weird, but youngbae's vocals resembles me of a very sweet and soft eggs cream. And that reminds of what i like to call, the portuguese taeyang, TT. Now, TT has a lot of old school r&b bops that i think would suit tae, but my heart beats more towards lady, deixa-te levar so i had to pick it. The vibe is immaculate and i can imagine some body rolls, a shirt flying in the middle sjsj. Anyway, this song has a chorus that can lead the fangirls to yells - "Lady, let yourself be taken. You won't make it. C'mon, come towards me, towards me". Just the thought of having youngbae address everyone with a melodious "lady~" :weary: unfortunately i can only dream about it.

Quem de nós Dois - Paulo Gonzo

Even though Seunghyun is a rapper, i chose a singing song for him because this man has such a perfect and unique voice, especially for ballads - i mean, did yall already listened to his song "hi haruka" from secret message ost or "let's not fall in love" from bigbang's discography? Anyway, there aren't a lot of artists i know with a similar vocal range like his, but i think i have the perfect match. Portugal has the luck to have this artist named Paulo Gonzo - he is known for his unique deep husky voice, as well for his epic ballads. He has so many amazing songs that turns hard to just pick one, but i have to go with one of my ultimate favorite songs to sing along, Quem de nós Dois. Everything about this song is delicious to hear, and i would literally pay for seunghyun's portuguese classes if that meant we could hear his version of this song. I get all giggly just thinking about it, i just know he would make it so perfect and dreamy 🤭 There is this part in one of the verses where Paulo sings "You know my smile/ you read my eyes" - "Você conhece o meu sorriso/ lê no meu olhar" - and in the middle gives us a little cheeky laugh sjsj look i swear i'm not into sugar daddies, but this moment right here 🫣 can you imagine seunghyun doing it thoooooo?? Ong

Where the River Goes - Stone Temple Pilots (kizu)

Sure there’s no rap in this song, nor is there in the next song, I’d love nothing more than to hear him sing. This song is one of my favorites because of how powerful Scott Weiland’s vocals are and I can easily hear Seunghyun matching, even if their voices don’t match , just that power and emotion would bring me nothing but pure serotonin. I’d also love to hear him use his voice in a more rock-ish setting,and this specific song would be perfect as a start. It’s moody, it’s emotional and it’s everything I think he’d love to cover.

Release - Pearl Jam (“ “)

Continuing with a grunge theme, I feel that this is also more Seunghyun’s thing as he could definitely turn this song into his own. Release is a song that just makes you feel, puts you in a blanket of emotion and if his voice was added into the mix, it could definitely just make those waves of emotion just that more powerful. It’s so melancholic with how the song is so up and down, there are bits of soft hums, there are bits of harmonizing with their singers own voice. There are many parts of this song that Seunghyun could easily add his own spin on and create such a beautiful rendition of this already pretty song.
