It's come to everyone's attention as of late that there has been a massive amount of drama going on. I get it people disagree but let's leave it at that and not blow it into proportions so high that there's no point to even bother.
We as the staff have tried to be nice and just hang out with all you guys without enforcing the rules too strictly, but I see that's going to change.
I had assumed all of you were mature enough to handle yourselves without causing such a ruckus on a daily basis but I can see for some that's just not true. Honestly I'm extremely disappointed I'm having to make this post or address this crap at all but frankly I'm pissed about hearing about it.
Honestly I don't know everything that's going on and we it that we don't because there's 9 staff to almost 20,000 so you can't expect us to know everything that goes on without someone telling us we try to keep a good hold but things slip by especially if they aren't public.
So despite not knowing everything I see something I don't like and that's people leaving.
I've seen quite a few leave due to other people and that is just ridiculous that even someone just asking for help convincing their friend there is some love in the community everyone jumps down their throats instead and I couldn't be disappointed more.
Now I've stated my thoughts on all of this mess now we are getting to the part where I add some new rules because many people can't handle themselves.
Normally I stay out of personal business unless asked but as of now until I see improvement if I see any drama arising I will message and find out the situation and deal with is from there according to what I see fit. If you continually cause more drama you will be striked or banned depending on the severity of what you've done as no matter how skilled of a keeper you are you in the end you're bringing the community down as a whole.
As of this point forward any drama posts made after this one will be taken down end of story.
It's honestly sad I have to make this but it's true this place is for reptiles and being a fun community but it won't be if it keeps heading the direction it's headed.

As an addendum to this, if someone is bullying you, either block them, PM a staff member, or both! Do not take matters into your own hands, this sort of behavior tends to get blown way out of proportion and leads to witch hunts. Staff is staff for a reason, we know how to handle this stuff and have the power to enforce it.

Not upset or anything but, in my case, I did reach out to staff. I messaged multiple people but it's hard for me to tell who is staff and who is not. I even messaged someone from the welcoming committee because I didn't know what else to do and I didn't get a response back. I understand you have a lot of but are there really that many people being rude on here? I have blocked the s that caused drama for me and will continue to do so. I hope everyone takes your message as a warning. I did. Next time someone says something rude, I'm immediately blocking them. I won't even give them the chance to explain their point because I love this amino. I love having other people to relate to and I don't want to have that tainted by some punk that can't agree to disagree.
We have a list of staff pinned to the top of the featured page with all their specialties.
To my knowledge no staff heard about it so we couldn't do anything but I agree with you it was petty and stupid that it happened.
This is an old post from a while back when things were bad someone just refeatured it to nip it at the bud I guess

i think a lot of things comes from people being too aggressive about husbandry and general care where people feel attacked and as uf people are saying in summation: "you're a horrible pet owner because blah blah" there are so many people who are ionate about reptiles amphibians and fish and that's great but there are ways to tell somebody what they are doing isn't the best without sugarcoating as well as not being so aggressive about it. in my personal opinion, i think that's where most of this new rising drama comes from.
You'd think that but 99% of the drama has nothing to do with reptiles sadly just stupid crap

Ok here are my thoughts: IN MY OPINIONI think that we should have more staff if we are using "there are 9 staff and over 20,000 ..." as evidence for the lack of help and knowledge. I've been on here for half a year and not 1 staff application has been seen by me and I have see that excuse 3 times.
Another opinion I have is that you can't expect a mass amount of people to follow the rules, there is going to be drama and you best be prepared for it. Many of the (including myself) are 11-15 years old, a lot of teens are immature, trust me.
We've opened staff applications twice in the past 6 months, actually, believe it or not, and one of those rounds was when I got promoted. And even with a staff of 100, we all have lives outside of Amino which take precedence, and stuff can and will fall through the cracks, esp drama which generally takes places in PMs, where we cannot see. Staff are 100% volunteers, we do this because we love it, but at the end of the day real life has to come first sometimes.
We are not expecting people to always follow the rules and always be angels, but we do expect people to have the maturity and awareness to realize that staff should be notified when big drama happens so that we can resolve it. I've said this time and time again, but when try to resolve this, it all too often leads to massive fights and witch hunts. We are staff for a reason - all staff was chosen for conflict resolution skills, and unlike you guys we have the power to make people listen and give real consequences to major troublemakers. I cannot speak for other staff obviously but I have a job so I cannot be checking the latest feed 24/7, but if a member PMs me I always get a notification and will act on it as soon as I can. Also that the block button exists if someone is harassing you.

In my personal view I haven't seen any, might have been the times I wasn't as active. I completely understand people having personal lives and not volunteering.
Super disappointed to see this get refeatured again. The majority of people on here want to learn about reptiles and post about their own, its unnecessary for any drama to be present at all
