Unraveling The Amino Moderation Team

Hello Leader Amino, BirdUp coming at you with another new post. Today we’ll be speaking about the Amino Moderation Team; who they are, what they do, and why they’re important for keeping these apps running smoothly.

Who Are The Amino s?

If you were part of the original Amino communities you might recognize a few of these names. Frank, Phil, Jen, Serious Samus, and more all still moderate for Team Amino. However, with the implementation of leader moderation these individuals have taken on a few roles beyond just moderating. These include approving communities to be listed, answering emails, managing community probations/disables, and more.

What Flags Go To Amino?

You may have noticed that not every item flagged goes to the on app flag center. Posts that are flagged as “gore” or “sexually explicit” will be reported directly to the Amino s. This is for a few reasons:

1) Some leaders are young and should not be exposed to to that sort of content.

2) Some of these posts are so bad that the in question needs to be banned from all of Amino (SuperBan) rather than just a single community.

3) Some of these posts may contain content that requires we high authorities.

If you see a you didn’t ban on you banned member list, it’s likely they were removed by Team Amino for one of the above reasons.

If you are worried that something needs to be taken care of faster than Amino generally responds, please encourage your community to send you a direct message about the flagged content that way you can act. Let it be known that we have greatly cut down on our flag response time by allowing leaders to handle the mundane ones, so in most circumstances any flags the mods receive should be addressed quickly.
