HEARTBEAT(1600 words. Approx.)

I wanted to write to you today. How are you? Are you doing well? It's been some days since we talked. I am sorry. I shouldn't have walked out like that. But I was so mad at you, no at myself.

I guess I started being too selfish.

I was walking out of the library today. your favourite "The Fault In Our Stars?" That's such a beautiful book but what I even enjoyed is you reading it aloud to me and me laughing everytime you would shed your tears. Today also, I read that book but alone...and I sensed your smell on it...Your fresh, breezy smell.

Nostalgia hit me hard.

"Can you please stop walking so fast? My leg hurts.", Your exhausted voice rings in my ear. "Y/N, this is the slowest I can walk.", I once again tell but you wouldn't buzz. "Ok, I will hold your hand and walk with you, fine?" I say. "Fine.", You giggle and I hold your hand tightly staring at your beautiful face and you tell.

Jungkook, your doe eyes are so beautiful.

I once again recall the moments we spent together.

"The stars are looking so beautiful tonight.", She said. I stare at her beautiful face which is glowing at the dark. "It's not the stars. It's you..", I whisper.

"Cheesy.", She laughed.

Many people come and went in my life, but with her it was different. She was my happiness. Her big beautiful eyes, long hair, soft lips, her honey like voice and angelic features; she was everything to me.

I can't tell if I was in love.

Is wanting to hear her voice, love?

Is being impatient to see her, love?

Is getting jealous for her over small things, love?

Is waiting for her text message and phone call everyday and being sad when I don't receive anything, love?

And is ing her all the time, love?

Then, hell yes I was in love. I am in love.

I sat comfortably on the chair once again. I wanted to write. Not just a letter, I wanted to write something special. Trying to jot down my feelings, I write and write but to no avail. The crumpled paper balls fill the desk and the floor near the study table and I scan it's pile.

God Jungkook...

I get up from the chair and stretch my tired body. I pick up the papers and dump them into the nearby dustbin. The night sky looked so beautiful.

If only she was with me right now...

I go to the balcony with a paper in a hand and a pen in other. I stare at the full moon shining so brightly. It's truly beautiful.

The moonlight spilled onto my chest and shoulders. The serenity filled my body and feeling calm, I once again lift the pen up to write. But this time's it's different. I feel excited for no reason. My heart's beating fast and I feel like I am an artist who is eager to paint his favourite scenery.

"Heartbeat"

I write the title.

I wish that you would love me

Writing furthermore, I reach to the line I wanted to write.

It was you who led me through the maze

This rain is coming close to an end and now I won’t let go of your hand

I rummage through the paper. I read it from first to last. I don't feel satisfied. It just feels empty. I try to think more but I can't. I can't write.

I get up and walk back to the bedroom. I fold the paper neatly and keep it on the table.

I feel lonely today. Everything's going fine. But I just miss you...Since you were gone, I feel like a part of me has gone. I miss your smile, your voice, your eyes and your beautiful smiling face. It gave me hope but now that you aren't here, I don't know what to hold onto.

"I think I need some fresh air.", I take the paper from the desk and keep it on my pocket. Carrying my backpack and plugging on my earphones, I get out of the house.

The weather is cloudy. Cool breeze blows past my face and I feel good thinking I came out. I go to the usual park, where we used to hang out.

"Jungkook, stop holding my hands. The people are staring." I you say.

"Let them stare. I want to tell the world that you are mine.", I said smiling.

I saw her cheeks turn into a shade of pink. She was blushing. "Stop acting like that. Your words don't affect me, you see? And for your information, my hand, my choice.", She takes back her hand and doesn't look into my eyes.

"My words really don't affect you?", I asked her.

"Yes, they don't. End of the story.", She said.

"What if I say I love you? Won't it affect you?", I asked staring at her.

Her eyes were wide out of surprise. She looked at me with a puzzled expression. For a second, she couldn't speak anything at all. "I-I--", She stuttered.

I gently pull her closer and hold her waist. "I want to see again how my words affect you. I love You. I love you more than anything and anyone in the world."

She doesn't speak anything. "Hold up.", She says. "Don't expect me to say that back because it's clearly a lie."

"What? How?", I asked a bit disappointed.

"You are lying! You love food more than me. Can you ditch it for me? Answer!", She said chuckling.

I grinned from ear to ear. My fast beating heart calming down. "No, I can't. And I am telling this because there should be no lies in a relationship."

"See! I told you.", She said walking ahead happily while I ran my hands through my hair. That was how she was. Typical Y/N. She wouldn't tell those words no matter what. But I wouldn't mind because I knew that day would definitely come when she would finally tell those words I was yearning to hear. And that would be special...

I didn't realize I had roamed around the park for long. It was drizzling. A bolt of lightning struck in the sky and seeing that the weather wasn't gonna be good, I hurried to the nearby bus-stop to take shelter.

As I had expected, quickly it started raining heavily making it hard for the ers-by. The road was now almost empty except some few vehicles which were running.

I spread my hands and felt the cold water hit my hands while I closed my eyes. I inhaled the fresh air. It was euphoric.

My eyes fluttered open and I spotted a bus coming at a distance. The bus stopped at the bus-stop and someone exited from the bus with a bag.

"Jungkook?", The familiar voice echoed in my ears and I looked up to see Y/N standing with a bag. I was left speechless. I couldn't sense if it was a dream or not. Even though, She looked beautiful than ever. Her hair falling on her shoulders, her beautiful eyes, her fresh scent; ugh, how much I had missed it.

The bus drove away and she stood at the same position for a while. I could say that she had missed me as well. I finally muttered after a long silence. "Wait, but you told that you will be here after a week? Is your aunt fine now?"

"Yes, she is. She told me that I could leave early and I hurried up. But aren't you happy to see me?", She asked making a gloomy face.

"No I am! I am so happy to see you!", I said hugging her tightly. I didn't care about the rain. She was wrapped around my arms and that mattered the most. She was my home.

"Jungkook?", She called.

"Hmmmmm?", I responded.

"I love you.", She told.

"What?", I quickly pulled back not believing what I had heard just now. "Uhmm...I am not gonna repeat it again. That only happens once.", She said.

"But why? Please tell it once again.", I requested. "No.", She said and pulled me in for a hug.

Simply getting drenched in the rain, I felt happy. All my loneliness and worries driving away. She could definitely feel my heart beating fast.

After a while she whispered, "I missed you." "I missed you too.", I said feeling happy.

"I love you.", She softly spoke.

"I love you too. Thank you for saying it once again.", I told.

This was the first time she had confessed. Though, I hadn't imagined it happening like this, it was indeed special...like I had thought.

"Can you feel my heartbeat?", I asked. "Yes...", She replied. "My heart is beating for you now and it will continue beating only for you.", I whispered.

"Thank you...", She simply said smiling.

While walking back home together, we held our hands and I was lost in my thoughts, our thoughts.

Unknowingly I mumbled something.

"What are you mumbling?", She asked me.

I looked at her first a bit surprised. Everything began to sink in.

Looking at her irably, I whispered.

"My heartbeat~~~"
