:heartpulse: Confessing Love :heartpulse: (AWIC Prompt)

Welcome to February’s prompt!

It blows my mind that we’re already here. Anyway, I am excited to dive in to this month’s prompt:

Confessing Love

Now, this can very easily be used as a Valentine’s Day prompt, but this is also very open ended. If you’re not in to romance, make it something darker. If you do decide to go this route, please make sure to put any trigger warnings, as necessary!

Artists:

You all will be tasked to create a fully colored/shaded piece centered around our theme. I’d like for you all to focus on ensuring that the characters are conveying emotion, as well as paying some extra attention to practicing shadows and lighting in your pieces. I feel like this is a great opportunity to make the most out of this month’s prompt because lighting can make or break a piece. For digital artists, layer modes will be your BFF. Multiply, screen, color dodge, etc. Traditional artists, while your options are a bit more limited, filter modes can definitely be used with this! So when you take a photo of your submission, I encourage you to play around with the filters on your device’s camera. If you choose to use a filter, be sure to submit the original work, as well!

Writers:

You will be tasked to create a writing piece with a minimum of 500 words centered around our theme for this month! My first word of advice is to choose characters that you have an emotional attachment to. This will make it easier to get your creative juices pumping! Please ensure that you reach at least 500 words because that is the MINIMUM word count for featured works. I encourage you all to look for synonyms, read your writing out loud, and see if there is anything you feel like you can do to improve the piece!
