And now, a special interview with

Yoongi and Jimin!

ELLIE: Hi, thank you so much for meeting with me! Now, I understand you have a very busy schedule, so I'll keep this as short as possible.

JIMIN: [laughs] Don't worry about it! We're happy to talk about our album.

ELLIE: I love the enthusiasm! Okay, let's get right into it. First, ever since listening to the album, I've been wondering what inspired the concept of the album. Do you mind sharing?

YOONGI: I'll be honest, the concept isn't too clear at first glance. The color palette is very blue, but the concept photos are a contrasting red, and our song titles have a darker feel. It's a bit confusing, right? [laughs] The overall concept is "warriors". The blue on the album cover represents the open sky and ocean that we can travel, while the reds of the photos show the darker side of being a warrior. And finally, the songs each explore different emotions that we might feel as warriors.

ELLIE: Shall we take a closer look at each song, then?

> DARK SEA -

Dark Sea

ELLIE: I have to it, I loved the imagery you created with the lyrics. This is a bold way to open your album, is there a reason why you chose this as your first song?

JIMIN: We didn't want to shy away from the concept of warriors, so what better way to open than with a song about how they fight? Actually, [laughs] I wrote most of the lyrics for this song. The track itself doesn't have too many layers, but the words themself are very harsh. It sort of sets the scene for the rest of the album, you know? The lyrics talk about how warriors fight and how they are undefeated, and I thought that was a very powerful start to the album.

> WE FIGHT -

We Fight

ELLIE: I'll be honest, this was the most refreshing title track I've heard in a long time. The chorus was very catchy, and it continued to use a lot of descriptive diction. What made you decide on this concept as opposed to the rest of the album?

YOONGI: We really wanted this song to empower those who listen to it, and it to also be something that you can listen to on repeat without getting sick of. The rest of the album revisits our rap and hip hop roots, but we wanted this track to also acknowledge that we're kpop artists, too.

> GODS OF WAR -

GODS OF WAR

ELLIE: The overall vibes of this song felt very different from your usual style of writing and producing. Can you share why?

YOONGI: Actually, that's because we didn't write it! [laughs] Jimin had come across this song, and we loved it so much that we reached out to the original artist. We were fortunate enough to create a rewrite for this lovely song for our album.

JIMIN: I thought the very empowering vibes of the song were perfect for our album! Warriors are, after all, gods of war [laughs].

> AS THE NIGHT FALLS -

As The Night Falls

ELLIE: As I was listening to this song, I couldn't help but notice the very introspective lyrics. What were your intentions with this song?

JIMIN: Warriors are these great heroes, but they're human too, and we felt it was important to address the mental struggles they might face. Warriors are very powerful, but at the end of the day, they're simply pawns to whoever is ordering them around. Yes, they're undefeated in battle, but they have to live with the guilt that comes with hurting others. This song reflects how warriors can fall into the trap of their own mind and thoughts. Yoongi-hyung was a genius when it came to writing lyrics that reflected those delicate emotions.

YOONGI: Yah, you helped a lot, too!

JIMIN: [laughs]

> AFTERMATH -

Aftermath

ELLIE: If I'm being honest, this song was really sad! I think I cried reading the lyrics [laughs]. Why did you choose to end on such a melancholic note?

YOONGI: Continuing the theme of struggles from the last song, the song "Aftermath" represents the, well, aftermath of a battle. What happens when a warrior loses a loved one in battle?

JIMIN: This song explores themes of survivor's guilt, as well as overall mourning for loved ones. The lyrics discuss how the loss was not worth the gain, which I think is an important message. What are you willing to lose in order to gain something?

ELLIE: Wow, thank you so much for your thorough answers! I really enjoyed hearing your thought process, and I'm sure your fans will enjoy it as well.

JIMIN: Thank you for having us! It was great to talk about a project that meant so much to us.

YOONGI: Creating such a big project with Jimin has been amazing, and I'd love to do it again.

ELLIE: Well, the next time you make another album, I'd love to interview you again! [laughs] Thank you for your time! This is Ellie, g off.
