#FantasySmash + Winner!

Fantasy Smash

Hi guys,

I'm coming back overworked from school to get you guys another weekend event. This one will be called #FantasySmash

We all know it's that kind of year. American football starts up and one of the biggest things is fantasy football. Creating your idea of a perfect team so that you can bet on your players.

Let's make that into smash. (Without the betting money part.)

We are making this event early into the week so you have some reasonable time to make a post for MKLeo Saga which will take place this Saturday and Sunday.

I shortened the directions as much as possible in the rules to eliminate as much confusion as I can.

Introduction

You guys will be able to make Dream teams of your favorite/preferred characters (We would do players but that would be a lot of extra work.) for an major! (To be determined.)

You get to pick teams of 5 characters. Pick characters that you want to see do well based off the singles bracket. You will get points based off the 5 characters' placements. You will get to create a blog for this! We decided characters over players because it would be much harder to award points for individual players.

Your goal is to get as many points as possible. The prize for this event will be a title, so choose wisely.

Equation

The equation to know how many points you get for an INDIVIDUAL CHARACTER is 50 - ((Multiplier)*(placement at major)). I have tested that this equation so that it works. That way a low tier character will get more points than a high tier.

You want to make sure you get the highest placement for your character. Why would you want points for Diddy getting 30th when he places 3rd? In any case, if you pick the same character twice, you will have to go by the second highest placement of that character, so you would go with 30th and 3rd. That way if ZeRo gets first, you have to go to the second highest placing Diddy.

Here is the multipliers for each character.

If you want to calculate this, you will need:

-The character and their placement.

-Multiplier as provided by the chart.

-A calculator (Optional)

Say I pick Rosalina and Dabuz places 10th. Let's fill in the equation. 50 - (0.4*10) You should get a total of 46 points.

Now let's say for example, Puff gets 5th. 50 - (0.1*5) You should get a total of 49.5 points.

Once you have calculated the amount of points each of your individual character receives, add them up. You should get a grand total.

I tried to keep points relatively close so that no matter who you go with you have a chance of winning.

-Edit: If any of these directions are unclear, please ask me in the comments or DM me if needed. All you have to do is design a blog with 5 characters you want to win MKLeo Saga. That's it.

-You NEED to make a blog with your 5 characters with the hashtag #FantasySmash Make some edits/pictures/writing to jazz up your blog!

-Give your team of characters a name!

-You must only have teams of 5 characters. If you try and get away with 7 or more characters, you will be disqualified. You MAY add a SINGLE backup character in case of a tie. But you must distinguish who is your backup. If not, I will be going with the first 5 characters in your blog.

-You have until Friday, November 3rd at 11:59 EST 2017 to complete your entries. You CANNOT update your blog after this date or it will be assumed that you were changing your characters to get more points.

-If you have any problems with your blog, please tell me or if you want to change something before the major. Do not ask me to change something while singles are ongoing. That's cheating waiting to happen. You will be disqualified. After MKLeo Saga is over and the title has been awarded, feel free to change your blog.

-You may pick the same character twice, but you have to go by first and second highest placement of that character. If you pick Bayo and Salem gets 1st, Captain Zack gets 10th, you get points for Bayo placing 1st and 10th, NOT 1st twice.

-I will be calculating the math for your points. You may double check my answer, but the event team will have the final say and score. See me for any questions or further info.

-To answer your questions, they need to have used the character for a majority of the major.

-You can pick all of or just 1 of Sheik, Diddy, Bayo, Rosa, and Fox for this event. Make a blog detailing those characters and any edits.

I have faith that an Ike main will place high in this major because there are so and so is currently entered who I hope to do well!

Descriptions/Explanations may vary person to person. You can include edits or special pictures for each character.

-Whoever gets the most points will be rewarded a title! If there is a tie in points, your back up option will come into play if you have one.

-Explain the characters you chose in depth! Why did you pick the characters you chose? Is there any strategy in this or did you pick top 5 in the game?

-Make some fancy edits for each character!

-Make if your own and be creative!

What if your main doesn't make MKLeo Saga? In any case, if no Puffs enter now, no worries! If this event is successful then I may plan on holding this monthly. That allows the possibility that you can root for your main.

Also, I was originally planning this for FE Saga, but we were backed up on events, so I rescheduled this. Just ignore any mentions above if you see them. Hopefully this smaller event allows you enough time to practice for all Halloween tournaments!

I am happy to announce the Fantasy Smash Winner!

First off, I would like to give out thanks to everyone who participated and hopefully we can get more participants if we make another Fantasy Smash. If there is a next time I will be making it harder to go with top tiers as your picks so be aware.

I decided to give credit to characters as long as they appeared on the website which I referred to since I could not always tell who used which character for how long. Nairo's Corrin did not show up on the website even though he did use her in top 8. That makes me pretty sure that they had to use the character for a majority of their sets which is exactly what I stated in the comments. Tweek used 3 characters in top 8 anyways so why not give credit for each of his characters?

only first place is awarded what is probably a title.

I'll be showcasing the 5 highest scores since they all did a job well done.

5. Amalga - 238.8 Points

This team had a pretty strong selection. Amalga did a nice job picking out his team of 5. He was the only person who did not have a backup who made it here. He picked Bayo, ZSS, Cloud, Fox, and Diddy. Nice job!

4. I3ambi - 240.8 Points

I3ambi made it to fourth place with his choice of Bayo, Diddy, Rosa, Cloud, and ZSS. His backup being Bayo. Not much to say other than a nice job, not that far behind top 3 at all.

3. Xtreone - The Annoying Ones 241.2 Points

Xtreone's The Annoying Ones barley missed second. He actually had a tie in points which is where the backups came into play. He picked out Bayo, Diddy, Marth, Zero Suit Samus, and Cloud with a backup of Sheik. Definitely came close to winning this.

2. Reine - "Defibrillator Gang Bang" - 241.2 Points

Uhhh, naming aside this team was solid. (Kek don't hurt me :eyes: :sweat_drops: ) Reine had Diddy, ZSS, Bayo, Cloud, and FG Cloud (aka another Cloud) on his team. Soooo close, excellent job.

And now the moment you all have been waiting for. The team with a grand total of 243.5 points. His 5 characters were as follows:

Marth

Sonic

And finally, the character that won it all. The final decider, the low tier bird himself,

Falco!

AC placed 25 using both Falco and Metaknight to get himself there! I asked around and verified that Falco would be fair game for since it did seem that he did use Falco for a decent amount of sets.

Congrats to Zinco and Team Nooze!

Maybe it was a good idea to pick a low/mid tier after all.
