Chapter 1: A difficult beginning

Generation 1 “The Masons”

Katherine decided to start writing so she could sell her books in an attempt to make some easy money, since she was always good at it, although she doesn't like it.

Edward started fishing, but he discovered how hard it actually is, so he quickly gave up and decided to take care of the garden instead.

The neighbors came to welcome them, Katherine met this nice woman named Cecilia, and they quickly became friends, even though she confessed that she's not married and isn't planning on doing so, Katherine didn't care about that.

Edward's family gifted them a hen and some bees so they could start their lives without many problems, although food seems to be a big problem for them, it's hard to cook with the few ingredients and money they have.

So he decided to get a job, taking care of the fields for a rich family, since he at least had some experience.

And after just a few days, there was storm and a lightning hit the hive. So they won't have honey for a while.

The next few weeks are spent working hard trying to make some money and preparing for the wedding. Edward started going out to hunt, so Katherine could finally make tastier meals and they could eat something other than vegetables.

They got a cow and a hen in the meantime, this way they could have free produce. Although they didn't realize how much work everything would be, but they managed to take care of the animals, the garden, the house and everything else.

After some time, they finally got the money for the wedding, so they invited Edward's parents and got married in a very intimate wedding.

Katherine finally met John and Adelaide Mason; her parents, Thomas and Mary Gardner weren't even invited. She was sad that not even her beloved sister Sadie could attend, but still tried to make the most of it.

Edward's father, John, officiated the wedding. And after exchanging rings, it was official!

She got pregnant before the wedding, but Edward's parents were okay with it, and no one else really knew, so at least there wasn't a scandal. She had a rather easy pregnancy, even though she had twins. Meet the heir Charles Mason and his twin brother Peter Mason!

I'm having so much fun with this family! After almost a year I wanted to play this challenge again, but I didn't want to create a new family, so I decided to continue where I left off with this one.
