       Hello hello my loves, this is my

       spooky kitty entry for the most current

       event. Along with my drawing entry I’d

       like to talk about black cats and what

       happens to them during Halloween

       season! Hope you all enjoy.

       The reason I based my drawing on a

       black cat was to bring awareness to them!

       Halloween is a scary day for humans and

       pets, many black cats go missing every

       Halloween and October.

History: Black cats have been associated with evil and witchcraft since the Middle Ages:

Papal decrees: In 1232, Pope Gregory IX linked black cats to Satanic rituals, and in 1484, Pope Innocent VIII called them the "devil's favorite animal".

Witch trials: During the Salem witch trials, witches were thought to transform into black cats.

Puritan beliefs: The Puritans persecuted black cats and burned them on Shrove Tuesday to protect their homes from fire.

Edgar Allen Poe: Poe's short story The Black Cat depicted a black cat as a symbol of guilt, insanity, and alcoholism.

Everyone believes Black cats bring bad luck, that is a huge urban legend in the U.S. but in many other countries such as Japan, they believe the opposite black cats bring good luck and wealth!

but due to the legends in the U.S. many teens/young adults, go out and steal black cats for rituals and sacrifices. Some have even had their pets stolen just to be returned dead because some people believe that the owners of the cats are witches for having them. I’ve had my own black cat stolen and shown up dead on Halloween night. It’s absolutely disgusting so please if you have a Black cat or any cat in general make sure they stay inside on the month of October especially Halloween!

       This was a short post but I just wanted to

       use my contest entry for good not just
