When to report a community.

Recently I've been getting questions about when to report communities.

There are a few reasons to report communities, so this will be a short post about why!

Inappropriate Topic/Content

Some communities try to get stuff by us, which sometimes they can do for a while, but we have such awesome s who hunt these communities down and bring them to our attention. If a community has a blatantly inappropriate topic and we don't take it down, feel free to flag it!

If they're hiding it under a seemingly SFW topic, but the contents are very NSFW, then you should flag it.

Harassment/Bullying

Unfortunately, some communities are built in order to harass other communities and/or . In this case, definitely report them. We don't want anybody to feel unsafe on our apps, so it's important that you bring these to our attention.

This includes trolling communities.

These are the two main reasons to report a community.

When to NOT report a community

This is just as important! You don't want to go crazy reporting communities, so it's important to understand when to report and when not to report.

A topic you don't like

Maybe there's a topic you personally don't like or agree with, but that doesn't mean it's inappropriate or against our guidelines. As long as it's all ages, and not strictly against our guidelines, you should probably do nothing. Some examples are religious and cultural communities.

Duplicates

If you have a community and you see another community on the same topic, it's not worth reporting. We allow duplicate communities, so there's nothing wrong with it. I know some people don't like the idea of having a community just like theirs, but that's the beauty of Amino! Everybody can create and build a community, regardless of topic.
