The Ravenborns are the first and oldest vampires in the world, their cursed lineage born from a bloodthirsty witch who sought to turn her friend, Elias Ravenborn, into a personal monster. When the spell took hold, Elias awoke with an insatiable hunger and unnatural speed, fleeing into the night in a frenzy of uncontrolled bloodlust. For years, he slaughtered without restraint, a feral beast lost to his new nature-until, at last, he mastered his thirst.
Once in control, he turned the first woman he loved- Victoria Hale, later known as Victoria Ravenborn after their marriage- into a vampire. Together, they built a dynasty, their children and grandchildren born as vampires, inheriting their immortal curse. Over centuries, they migrated across continents before settling in what would become Moonlight Hollow.
Their arrival sparked immediate conflict with the Blackwood werewolves and the Thorne witches, as each family fought for dominance over the land. Yet after centuries of bloodshed, none could claim true victory, forcing an uneasy truce.
Unlike the Blackwoods, the Ravenborns have never been numerous. Their kind reproduces slowly, and most of their family are nearly nine centuries old, leaving their numbers small- no more than twenty in total. They are a refined, aristocratic family, their intellect and sophistication as sharp as their fangs. Their home, was towering castle like structure perched on Moonlight Hollow’s highest mountain, looms over the city like a silent sentinel. Elias Ravenborn has ruled as their eternal patriarch, his leadership unchallenged. Though they have sired countless other vampire bloodlines over the ages, the Ravenborns have never sought alliances. They answer to no one, needing only each other.
To maintain their secrecy, the family constantly reinvents itself- changing hair colors, vanishing for decades, then reappearing under new first names. The mortals of Moonlight Hollow remain oblivious, dismissing their ageless faces as mere coincidence. The Ravenborns move through history like shadows, forever watching, forever waiting.
