Hey! My name is Shawn, but you can call me Damon! My pronouns are He/They/Xem. It would be great if you could call me Damon since that’s the name that I’m called on Amino! My timezone is EDT (Eastern Daylight Time).

How long have you used Amino?

I’ve used amino since 2015!

Do you have any experience being in a group or as a staff member in a group/Amino? What rank(s) are/were you?

Yes, actually! I am leader on two aminos! I am also Co-Host in the Pillow Room chat!

How well can you handle criticism and honest opinions?

I can handle criticism very well, actually. Honest opinions just as better! I’m the one that speaks for others, and getting would be essential for me. I can learn off of these and improve on myself!

Why do you want to be selected as a curator? Why do you have the potential to be apart of the staff team?

I would like to be selected as Curator because I have a lot of suggestions for this amino, as well as I am a good help for others. This would be a great task to handle because it can actually keep me occupied, and I love helping people out. This has actually been my dream for quite a while. This amino really has potential and I’d love to help the team revive this amino!

What changes do you have in mind for AJA? What can you contribute to improving the community, as well?

I have a bunch, actually! For starters, I think we should host events for the here! We could do what we did years ago and set up events like Best Dressed, and come up with others! I’ve actually talked to people in the Pillow Room chat and constructed some ideas with them! Some of our ideas were having mini art contests, throwback days, and many others. I can contribute coming up with ideas and talking to the staff of ideas that pop up in my head, as well as construct with others!

How often would you need to have breaks? Will you be able to fulfill your tasks needed as a dependable curator?

I don’t really need breaks besides for taking my meds, and also might need a mental break at least once in the day so I can get my head cleared. Yes, I will be able to fulfill my tasks as a curator! I devote my time helping people, as well as helping myself. I’m open and free to chat with anybody, when they’re sad or just want to have a full-on conversation!

In your own words, what deems content feature-worthy?

What deems content feature-worthy? Well, that’s easy! If the person puts effort into what they do, takes the time to construct what they’re posting then that could really be feature worthy. Also, we need some more things besides art on the featured page! We could start featuring more den maps, music pieces, and much more. We could also add some more titles so these have other things to achieve for themselves.

A member is constantly attacking the same artist. They keep insisting their work is terrible and aren’t showing any respect to the victim. What do you do?

I’d talk to them both in private. I’d try to calm them both down and have them be reasonable. I’m the type that looks at both parties. We’d definitely look both ways and try to fix the situation.

A fit of drama starts within a group chat. Several are going at it whilst a bystander is occasionally giving their input, fuelling the fire. What do you do upon seeing this?

I’d honestly put the chat on view depending on the severity. I’d tell the chat to calm down and I’d pull the main person that started the heat in a private pm. If the person(s) continue arguing, I’d talk to a staff member and see ways that I could fix this situation. If more situations occur, I’d have to kick the main protagonist and try to calm the chat down.

What measures would you take if a member reached out to you sending a suicidal message or telling you they wish to harm themselves?

I would calm them down and give them a hotline number. I’ve had the same mental issues happen to me, so I understand where they’re coming from. If they mainly want to talk to me, I’d talk to them. Confidentiality is crucial. Whatever’s said in the pm stays in the pm. If it gets out of hand or they want to talk to another staff member then I’d let them do that.

Are you bilingual or multilingual? If so, what languages do you speak?

I speak some French and a lot of Spanish, as well As a little German and a bit of Japanese!

Would you be able to deal with mature or sensitive topics?

Yes, I would. I speak for all, and am open for all. If you need to talk, I’m here.

Your friend asks you for strictly private staff information. If you don’t share it, they threaten to reveal secretive information about you to many people. What do you do?

I would talk to a staff member immediately. I’d decline and besides blocking them, I’d get their name and talk to a staff member, asking for help. If a staff member weren’t there at the time, I’d deal with this one-on-one. This is a serious situation and it would need to be addressed immediately.
