Ok, no one should have to make this post. But some people on social media have demonstrated that they need to know this even though it’s a pretty simple concept. So I guess I just want to make sure the point is known.
:star: YOU MUST CREDIT THE ART YOU USE IN POSTS FAVORITES AND/OR POLLS! :star:
And just saying: “Credit to the artist” does not help!
It’s very good you’re acknowledging you didn’t make it (( Otherwise that would be art theft )) but, you need to properly credit the artist.
Here’s a simple way how.
Use TinEye Reverse Image Search, insert the image you want to use, and credit the art.
Or, you could just google image search, and search by image.
Now you might be saying:
"But I can't find the original artist!"
Then here’s a simple answer, don’t use the art.
”Well they said I can’t repost their art”
Then respect their decision as an artist and don’t repost it! That’s their choice, NOT yours.
Crediting artists is very important, imagine if you spent your time on a piece and people wouldn’t even acknowledge you made it, And quite possibly even said it was theirs. You would probably feel pretty unhappy.
I sincerely hope this message spreads. It’s a big issue.
In conclusion, Please don’t post the art if you don’t either have permission from the artist or the link to their profile/original post.
I personally as an artist know how frustrating it gets when people post your art without permission, have no link to the /the original post, and even flat out steal what you’ve spent ages making..
I’m sorry if this seems like I’m making a big deal out of this, but it really does leave a bad taste in your mouth after it happens.
I am not the only one feeling this way, quite a few friends of mine urged me to make this post as well.
I appreciate you reading till the end, and I hope you understand where I coming from.
Again, thanks for reading.

Is is so accurate! The other day, I found an insta for the 'underrated artists' and found 3 of my art pix. They could have tagged me or something! They didnt even credit me and it hurt because people said that the art was great, thinking it was theres. People please, credit. The. Artist.
I found the artist..
My dude, I credited the artist in my post.
I agree the artist is fantastic
I agree with these , the artist worked really hard on the art they've made! And they can't just simply not credit the artist or use the art even though the artist specifically said not to repost it. It's very disrespectful! Whether the artist knows you've used it without credit or not.
Quick lil note to everyone:
If you find uncredited art, politely ask them to credit the artist. Do not just simply comment:
"Credit the artist, or I'm sending a curator to ban you."
Or anything like that, it's incredibly low and rude! And it'll just cause nothing but arguement and drama.

On the other side I've had people treat me like trash for asking them to credit art and instead of crediting they argue with me about it in pm and then block me so I can't see their posts :joy:
Don’t apologize for making a big deal out of art theft. Because it’s a big freaking deal. People could simply go to visit page when they get the pic off google but they’re to lazy to do it. I don’t know how many people have tried to themselves off as an artist when they aren’t. It’s frustrating, disrespectful, and could even potentially make an artist not want to do art anymore, which is a serious problem because that is wasted creativity and talent. It’s unfortunate that posts like this are necessary but non-artists just don’t get that art theft or not crediting the artist is not ok for some reason. So preach it fam.
