“beautiful strangers only come along to do me wrong. and i hope, beautiful stranger, here you are in my arms, but i think it’s finally, finally, finally, finally, finally safe for me to fall.”

i feel so comfortable with you. in your embrace, the world disappears. your voice is smooth and beats out the intensity of my surroundings. your blonde hair through my fingertips makes me feel safe, it gives me something to hold. i was shattered, an array of glass. each piece jagged, each piece sharper or duller than the next. you were the glue that held me together and made me whole again. without you, i’m afraid i’ll crack and break. i’ll become a monster within myself. for you are my peace. you’re my beautiful stranger.

the future seems so bright with you. you make my days longer and wild, full and beautiful. you give meaning to my days, months, years. seconds, minutes, hours. people like you come and go, people like you wrong me. but i’m willing to take that risk. i’m willing to take that risk for you. i think it’s finally safe to fall.

even if i crack and break, even if i become someone new because of you, i’m willing to sacrifice myself for you. you make me a better person. sometimes you have to break yourself in order to make progress. it’s always the struggles that make the future brighter. i’m willing to struggle with you, and fight for you. no matter how hard the task, i’m ready to break for you. as long as you break with me.

i don’t know if when i fall you’ll pick me up. i don’t know if when i break you’ll put the pieces back together. but sometimes you have to have faith. sometimes you have to sacrifice things to fully love someone. that someone has to be worth your time. they’re your treasure.

i’ve never been with someone who makes me feel this way. wanted. whole. happy. we’ve had ups and downs, we’ve had our fair share of trauma. but those broken pieces and jagged edges are what makes us beautiful. it’s what makes us whole. happy. wanted. it’s what makes you and me us. it’s what makes me love you.
