Dear Media

Original Poem by me. Not that great with poems so lets see how this turns out.

A broken girl sits there,

staring at her tray

after she watched her friends leave.

She does not know what she did

for them to stop being her friend

since she was everything that her parents taught her.

She was kind,

gave back to people,

had manners,

and more.

She had to learn to grow.

Her debut album

her sophomore album

and her junior album.

All of them she was able to go under the media

and did not get talked about.

She got noticed once

in that time frame

when the 2009 VMAs happened.

When she was embarrassed

on national television.

She used that as a stepping stone

and learned how to grow even more.

Her senior album

and fifth album.

Those all lead to more rumors.

Rumors that are not true

and were started by the same people-

the media.

They took success

and made lies out of it

turned it into material that got used against her

that got everyone to know who she was

and not in a good way.

She took what they said

and turned them into songs,

songs that became hits.

Everyone writes about romance

but she gets criticized for it.

Every song is about a relationship,

every song is about someone, but "who?"

which is what everyone wants to know.

Every move she makes

gets talked about.

She did not know what to do

other than act strong in the public eye,

put on a brave face for her fans.

She knew she needed to escape this,

and find a way to grow,

but she couldn't.

The media breaks people

turns them into a different person

but she was not going to become a victim.

Yet she did.

She fell into a hole that was spiraling,

spiraling out of control.

She had to get out,

but needed a way.

Her friends were there

and saw what was happening to her.

She was breaking

piece by piece

breath by breath.

She was caught in a web

that was created for her.

Three years later

she came back stronger

and better than before.

Everything used against her,

all those lies and names,

everything,

became a joke.

She turned everything they said

into her own little game.

A game that she now knows how to play

and will win this game.

A game that she never wanted to

but started back in 2009

when that incident blew up

all over the media.

She can thank all those haters

who do not like her for whatever reason

for changing her for the better.

She especially thanks one group

the most

and that is the media.
