So without further ado, let's get into this!

(Previous Chapter)(Chapter Hub)
C H A P T E R 5 : N O S T R A N G E R T O L O V E
Doctors rushed through open doors, pushing a bed carrying Shauna as quickly as they could, with one doctor holding bandages down on the leg in an attempt to stop the bleeding.
At last, they entered an empty room and were able to finally help the girl. Shauna was given anesthesia drugs to put her to sleep so she wouldn't feel the pain of the surgery. Once asleep, the doctors began working on her leg.
The first matter of business was to take the bullet out. Using an extractor, the doctors went into the wound, grabbed the bullet, and pulled it out. The whole process was done slowly so to decrease the risk of more damage.
Next, they cleaned up the blood all around her leg, using wipes and wet paper towels. Once cleaned, their next order of business was to close the wound. They spent the next several minutes stitching the wound closed.
In the waiting room, Emily kept tapping both feet on the ground and tapping her hands on her knees. The wait was killing her. Shauna had been in there for a while, she couldn't wait any longer. Thankfully, a doctor came through to her.
"How is she!"
Emily quickly asked whilst jumping onto her feet.
"Thankfully, no major part of the leg was shot, though the wound will leave a scar. But we've managed to stitch the wound and clean her up. She'll need to be back here in seven to ten days for a check-up."
"Oh thank the lord!"
Emily exclaimed.
"Is she awake?"
"Follow me."
The Doctor took Emily to Shauna's room. Once there, she left Emily alone with her.
"Emmie!"
Shauna weakly greeted with excitement, only recently coming out of her sleep.
"How are you feelin'?"
"I'm feeling better now. The nice lady said that I'll just have some trouble walking, but I'll manage it, right?"
"You bet!"
Emily replied before kneeling next to Shauna's bed. She let out a guilty sigh.
"This is all my fault, I'm sorry. I should've listened to Magnus. If I did, you wouldn't be in this mess right now..."
"B-B-Bu-But... you saved me!"
"No... the doctors saved you, I got you into this mess..."
"You just wanted to help me! I-It was F-Fisk who hurt me! N-Not you!"
Emily felt tears forming in her eyes. She did everything in her power to hold them back. She didn't want to cry, not right now. She wanted to remain strong, not just for Shauna, but also for herself. Thankfully, for her, the tears were held back and disappeared.
"I had another dream when I was out."
Shauna said, shifting the topic.
"I think I can the location of it better."
"Yeah? Where were you?"
"You know that abandoned metro by Inkopolis Square? I was there. There were Octolings there, Octolings who had green skin like I did. Two other people were there. They spoke to me about something, I don't know what, and then they killed the two people."
"Wow... I don't know what to think of that. What do you think that could be?"
"I don't know... but the people people who were killed seemed to really care about me."
It then hit Emily.
"Oh... you don't think you're talkin' about your p-"
"I have an idea! Maybe you can take me there!"
Shauna said, interrupting Emily.
"W-What?"
"Take me there!"
"Shauna, I'm sorry but I can't do that! It's too risky after today's incident!"
"We'll be very quick! The assassins are by the cathedral, right? They shouldn't be near the Square!"
"I don't know, Shauna, I-I..."
"Please!"
Emily had a quick think about it. She knew the assassins weren't near the Square, as the injured girl pointed out, and she needed to get pieces of her memory back, but what if something went wrong? Was she ready to take the risk?
"Ugh... we'll have to be very quick though! After that, we're going straight home. Do you understand?"
"Thank you, Emmie!"
Shauna cheered. The enormous smile on her face caused Emily to smile, despite her hating herself for making that decision.
L A T E R T H A T E V E N I N G . . .
Covering most of Shauna's head using her beanie, Emily managed to sneak both her and Shauna to the top right corner of Inkopolis Square. They found a fence that stood before a ageway leading down to the metro. The two girls climbed over the fence, with Shauna needing help due to her leg. Emily marched forward, making sure there is no danger ahead as Shauna limped behind her.
As they went through the ageway, the area around them became darker, damper, and more soulless. At last, they reached a square room with a slope leading upwards toward a taped-up train platform.
"What is this place...?"
Emily asked before ripping off the tape. Before her was a railroad going to the left and the right.
"Any idea which way, Shauna?"
As Shauna caught up, she took a close look at the track and shrugged her shoulders.
"I don't know..."
"Welp... you know what they say, left is always right!"
Emily replied before taking a left turn and running down the rail tracks.
"Emmie, wait!"
Shauna cried out as she limped after her quickly to catch up. Whilst limping, Shauna began gaining more control over her leg once again and was able to fully run after her.
Eventually, the two girls reached a rectangular room. It looked abandoned, like the other parts of the metro, but something about it felt off to them. The railroad was covered up in pavement, there were boxes all over the left side of the room. The weirdest part to them was an ink rail just waiting to be activated, but neither of them had weapons on them.
"Weird..."
Emily whispered out loud before the two girls ran on.
At last, they reached a massive room consisting of two rail tracks, including the one they ran on. And three platforms. The two headed onto the middle one. Emily stopped in her tracks to look around, she was amazed that such a hidden place could exist within Inkopolis.
"Wow..."
She whispered in awe. Shauna walked forward until she reached the center of the platform before stopping and falling onto her knees, making Emily concerned.
"Hey, are you okay, girl?"
7 Y E A R S A G O . . .
A group of green-skinned Octolings gathered around a younger Shauna, removing the dirty, smelly beg from her head, and allowing her to breathe. Back then, Shauna's skin was fully tan and she had long pink hair, as opposed to the condition she was stuck with in the present day.
"W-Whats going on!"
She cried out in confusion. Before her were two other masked Octolings. Once their bags were removed, Shauna only got more confused and scared.
"Mom? Dad?"
Both of her parents were beaten and dirty. Both were Octolings with the same skin color as her, though the father's hair was barely lighter. The father had a dark purple mohawk whilst the mother had curls at the end of her pink hair.
"SHAUNA!"
The mother cried out. She spun her head around to the other Octolings in panic.
"PLEASE DON'T HURT MY BABY GIRL! SHE DID NOTHING WRONG!"
Behind her parents was a telephone box, an old-fashioned telephone box, one that didn't look anything like any phones that she knew. Behind the box was an enormous blender. A voice suddenly came from the box.
"Our old leader fell three years ago. We are all that remain. In order to succeed where he failed, we need a new test subject, one with unique blood like yours. First, we need to test your abilities, to see if you're gifts are strong enough. Test them on the subjects you see before you."
The ominous voice ordered. The two subjects in question? Shauna's parents.
"W-What...?!"
Shauna uttered. Her dad wrapped his arms around his wife as the pair of them whimpered in fear.
"Failure to the test and you'll become one of us."
"N-No... I CAN'T HURT THEM!"
"You have until I count down to one to complete the test... ten..."
"MOM, DAD! WHAT DO I DO?!"
"Shauna, don't let them hurt you!"
Her dad cried out.
"Just do what they say!"
"Nine... eight..."
"NO! I DON'T WANT TO HURT YOU!"
"SHAUNA, LISTEN TO ME! IF YOU DON'T DO IT, THEY'LL KILL YOU! YOU HAVE TO SURVIVE!"
Her mother shouted.
"NO! WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?! WHY ME?!"
"Seven... six..."
"It's okay, Shauna! We love you so much! We need you to survive!"
Her dad told his crying daughter.
"Five..."
Panicking, Shauna aimed her hands at her parents. Both hands began to light up, illuminating the area with bright, golden lights.
"Four... three... two..."
Both parents closed their eyes and hugged each other tightly, accepting their fates. However, the moment the last number was called out, Shauna's lights dimmed...
"One... test failed..."
Both parents opened their eyes and saw that Shauna had frozen completely.
"No... NO!"
Her mother cried out, knowing what would happen to her next as the parents tried to reach out to her...
B A N G , B A N G ! ! !
Two of the green-skinned Octoling women pointed their Splattershots at each parent, taking them out with a bullet to their heads. Blood from each parent splattered onto Shauna's face. She had gone into shock. Tears streamed down from her face, her mouth gasped open, and she struggled to breathe from the hyperventilation. All the Octoling women in the area grabbed Shauna, pinned her to the ground and each took turns beating her.
S L A M , S L A M , S L A M ! ! !
S L A M , S L A M , S L A M ! ! !
S L A M , S L A M , S L A M ! ! !
They beat her until her body was bruised and numb. One Octoling took off her top so she could access both her shoulders. Two other Octolings injected Shauna with fluids into both shoulders, making her go dizzy. After taking off Shauna's clothes, the Octolings carried her into the blender and placed her in the middle. She was left alone just so the blender could activate and convert her into one of them. The propellers of the blender activated and very quickly, Shauna was engulfed in green ink...
P R E S E N T D A Y . . .
"Shauna?"
Emily said as she caught up to Shauna and kneeled to the right of her, waving her hand in front of her eyes to try and get a response.
"Hello? Are you in there?"
Moments later, Shauna closed her eyes, causing a few small tears to fall out. She let out a long high-pitched whimper and held onto her chest.
"Shauna?!"
Emily asked whilst gently holding onto her shoulder.
"T-They w-w-were... t-they were..."
"They were what?"
"M-Mommy... Daddy..."
It was just as Emily thought it was back at the hospital. Emily shut her eyes and sighed, her head facing down.
"I'm so sorry, Shauna..."
She whispered. Shauna took off the black beanie on her head and cuddled it in her arms as her whimpers became louder and echoed throughout the metro.
Hearing the crying echo made Emily nervous. She looked around frantically before noticing someone from the entrance pointing a Splatterscope at them. The figure pulled up his visor very quickly and paused for a second before preparing the shot.
"WATCH OUT!"
Emily shouted, pushing Shauna forward, and thus making her scream.
B A N G ! ! !
Thankfully, neither of the girls was hurt.
"Shauna, take cover!"
Emily yelled before super jumping at the attacker. Shauna rolled onto the other railroad, out of the attacker's sight.
S L A M ! ! !
Emily super jumped into the attacker, knocking him back a couple of feet. The attacker was the lead assassin himself.
"How did you find us!"
Emily asked, pinning him down.
"You left a blood trail to the hospital, I followed you there. After you came out, I followed you here!"
Tobias grunted, forcing himself up and knocking Emily off him.
Back on the other railroad, Shauna noticed a faint light shining through the darkness, it was a train, and it was coming in fast! Panicking, Shauna tried standing up but was struggling. The train was getting closer, there was no time for struggling. Eventually, she managed to stand back up and jump onto the platform right as the train sped past her. The exhausted Octoling looked up to see Emily occupied with Tobias. She saw it as a chance to make her move.
S L A M ! ! !
Tobias punched Emily up against a wall and pinned her there. Seeing this as the opportunity, Shauna ran onto the main track and super jumped past the pair of them. Tobias caught a glimpse of Shauna fleeing and grunted.
S L A M ! ! !
Using her open legs, Emily landed two kicks, one from her right leg hitting his chest, and the other from her left leg hitting his chin. Once free from his grasp, Emily super jumped after Shauna, leaving Tobias behind. Tobias stared into the black void and activated his visor. From the visor, he had managed to snap a clear photo of Emily's face from when she first noticed him.
Outside, Emily and Shauna had run out of the metro and were back in the top corner of Inkopolis Square. It was dark outside now, had they really been in there for that long? Shauna put the beanie back on her head before the pair of them entered their swim form and super jumped out of there.
L A T E R T H A T N I G H T . . .
Emily snuck both herself and Shauna through her open window. Once through, she began to move Shauna's mini bed to under her bed instead, to decrease the risk of her being found in her sleep.
"You should be safe now. No more going out for you. I'll take care of food, okay?"
"That's okay..."
Shauna replied whilst looking out of the window. Luckily, no monsters were hiding in the darkness. Out of nowhere, Shauna broke down, letting out quiet whimpers.
Noticing from her bed, Emily sat up and called her out.
"Shauna, what's wrong?"
"I-I'm a burden to people! My parents would be alive if it wasn't for me! A-And no I've dragged you into this mess!"
She sobbed. Not knowing the right words to cheer her up, Emily climbed out of bed and turned Shauna around. Once the two girls had their eyes locked, Emily wrapped her arms around her softly. The hug allowed Shauna to cry into Emily's shoulders. After a minute, they both pull out of the hug.
"Th-Thank you..."
"You're welcome!"
Emily whispered. It was then that Shauna made a very quick move on Emily by kissing her. Emily was flustered, becoming quickly nervous.
"I-I... w-what was that...?"
"I wanted to give you that for saving my life. You're my hero, Emmie."
Shauna answered with a small smile.
"I-I... thank you I suppose...?"
Emily replied, feeling her heart beat out of her chest.
"G-Goodnight, S-Shauna..."
"Goodnight, Emmie!"
Shauna replied before climbing under the bed.
("Dear Diary: did this girl just kiss me? She totally did just kiss me! Wow! I have no idea how to feel about this! Today was already rough with the attack, injury, and the other attack, but man I did not expect a kiss! I'm screwed!")
Emily laid on her bed, turning her lamps off as she stared at the ceiling. Whilst lying down, she felt her heartbeat grow faster and heavier with each ing second, as did her breathing.
("Right now, I can just feel my heart beatin' out of my chest and I'm breathin' so hard and quickly that I sound like a tank engine movin'! Look, I'm no stranger to love, alright, I've had my fair share of one-night stands. One time, it was this man who came overseas with a sexy accent, and then it was this woman who was round in all the right areas, and many others, but those were one-night stands. Relationships, don't get me started on them!")
Emily buried her face in her pillows, wanting to scream her lungs out, but her desire to not scare the soul out of Shauna prevented her from doing so. Instead, she continued to bottle up her emotions as she fell asleep.
("Let's start with the break ups, my first boyfriend cheated on me at a party, I cut ties with his ass instantly. My first girlfriend didn't feel comfortable around me. My next girlfriend made me feel uncomfortable with her very weird desires. My next three boyfriends all treated me like squit. It was then that I cut ties with relationships, and I haven't mentioned the ones which ended with deaths. One boyfriend got struck by lightnin'. One girlfriend who broke up with me in school got killed durin' Bolton's reign. A girl who I never got with, but had a huge crush on, died after turning to stone behind my back. With all that being said, I don't want to risk her endin' the same, ya know? I guess that kiss might've been a friendly gesture, because girl friends kiss all the time, right, surely this is no exception! I don't know, I guess I got some squit to figure out. Sincerely, E.R.")
M E A N W H I L E W I T H F I S K . . .
Mr. Fisk stood alone in his office looking out of the glass window, staring down at the workers below. He was waiting for three of the assassins to make a return. His face looked lifeless, one might assume he was dead.
D I N G ! ! !
Mr. Fisk turned around as the elevator door opened. Tobias, along with Anna and Anthony walked out, the latter two looking beat up.
"I heard about your defeat. I'm ashamed."
He uttered.
"Mr. Fisk, sir, I may have failed you this time, but-"
"This time?"
Fisk interrupted Tobias, making it clear what his intentions were.
"Please! Hear me out! I got a photo of the woman who beat us, and it's not Shauna!"
Tobias informed loudly, fearing for his life.
Mr. Fisk raised an eyebrow before stepping aside, giving Tobias access to his computer. The bald assassin stepped forward and took out the hard drive from his mask visor and ed it onto the computer system. The clean photo of Emily Rogue popped onto the screen, taken when they were down in the metro.
"Interesting..."
Mr. Fisk whispered. He began to run a facial recognition test on the photo and got the result he wanted. He then began to read the text given about her on the screen.
"Emily Sophie Rogue, born on New Year's Day in two-thousand-six. Daughter of the late Splat Force Major Oscar Rogue, and mother Kyle Moray. Grew up in Inkopolis City and attended Barika Academy, was great at Performing Arts, Art Studies, and Literature. ed the Splat Force at eighteen after her Dad died and helped put an end to Bolton's Reign nearly three years ago. Recently helped out at the Fisk Gala... and now I know why I recognize her."
Mr. Fisk grabbed a shotgun from his desk and began enhancing it with attachments, including a scope, a second, bigger barrel, and an ink tank strap. He approached the three assassins, shotgun in hand as he pointed it towards Anna and Anthony...
B A N G , B A N G ! ! !
Both Anna and Anthony died instantly, their faces blown away by the shotgun. Tobias looked away in horror.
"Look at me..."
Fisk aggressively whispered, forcing Tobias to look into his unphased eyes.
"The only reason you're alive and they aren't is that you brought back that photo. Now that we know who the girl is, there shouldn't be too much of a hassle. Am I clear?"
"Yes sir..."
Tobias replied quietly, still in shock.
"Good. You stay here until the afternoon comes, make sure to dispose of the bodies. In the meantime, I'll track down an address. Once I do, I'll visit Miss Rogue myself!"
Mr. Fisk replied as he slowly walked to the elevator. As he entered, he gave the scared assassin one last sinister glare as the door closed.

Thx for reading the fifth Chapter of Emmie: A Splat Force Story! With that ending, things are now going to be taken to a personal level as Fisk now knows who to track down. In the next Chapter, expect Emily to be put in an uncomfortable situation, which will bring in a character we haven't seen since Splat Force: The Gifted, so stay tuned for that! Until next time, stay safe out there! ^^
