CATALOG SUBMISSIONS: What's Approved? What's Rejected?

Hello band lovers!

As most of you are aware, Pop Punk Amino has a catalog filled with a lot of our favorite bands, solo artists, and legendary people in general. We welcome all the s on here to submit your own favorites to the catalog. The more, the merrier! Before you do so, here are some tips.

WHAT'S APPROVED:

Relevant Content:

Any band, artist, record label, organization, or person, relevant to the pop punk and emo community. You could simply check out the catalog to get an idea of what that would be.

Sufficient Information:

Your submission must have enough information. One short paragraph isn't enough. It doesn't have to be an essay, but at least include a brief history, their origins, singles, EPs, albums, etc.

Originality:

One of the main things the leaders and curators look for is the originality of the information. There's no harm in using references as a guide, but please put it in your own words if you do so. It's always awesome when people include fun facts about the favorite as well.

WHAT'S REJECTED:

Irrelevant Content:

At times, there's a gray area between what's relevant on here and what's not.

Here is a list of what type of content would be rejected:

• bands, musicians, or artists, that aren't pop punk, emo, or related.

• youtubers that have nothing to do with pop punk or emo music or culture.

• tv shows that have nothing to do with pop punk or emo music or culture.

• fandoms

If you're ever unsure what is relevant and what is not, it's best to ask one of the leaders or curators first! We don't want anyone to put time and effort into a submission that will be rejected.

Insufficient Information:

Simply submitting a favorite with little to no additional information is unacceptable. I made this mistake myself due to lack of knowledge about this. We will not add information for you.

Plagiarism:

THIS IS ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS WE REJECT SUBMISSIONS. Please do not copy and paste the information from any other website. This is considered plagiarism and will be rejected. As mentioned earlier, you can use information from other sources to help GUIDE you in what to include, but DO NOT state it verbatim!

REPEATS:

Before submission, please check to see if your favorite is already in the catalog. If so, it will likely be rejected, UNLESS the information you include is completely different and helpful.

EXTRA TIPS:

• Make your submission interesting! Keep it easy and fun to read. Include pictures of album artwork, band , live photos, etc.

• If it's a smaller band/artist that you feel deserves more attention, list some song recommendations!

• Take your time. Make sure your information is legible. Double-check that your spelling, grammar, and punctuation is up to par. We aren't scholars here, but checking these things will make your submission more desirable for everyone to read!
