TW: slight mentions of sexual assault, rape, death threats, mental illness & bullying

hello carat amino! our beloved mingyu is finally

back and he is here to stay. unfortunately, the

journey here was very rough. for international

fans, so much more. if you don't know what the

situation is, there were many bullying rumors

that surrounded kpop idols, mingyu included

(i won't explain too much but) the op who had

posted regarding mingyu said that he had made

sexual jokes with his friends during after school

and op had overheard this jokes and mentioned

it to her   therapist i suppose   when she was

getting treatment. she never mentioned mingyu

as being the reason for getting therapy. this is

important.

from there, @cheolca on twt posted an eng

translation which blew up and went viral. this is

also important. in the translation, cheolca states

that mingyu made sexually harassing comments

to op, told bad rumors about op to classmates &

he was the reason for op's therapy. everything

about this is FALSE. as i stated before, mingyu

was NOT the reason for op's therapy. he never

spread bad rumors about anymore. yes he made

sexual jokes with his friends but they WERE NOT

directed at anyone. this mistranslation (+ false

information) had   blown up   and that is what

international fans knew. they called him a rapist

and called it sexual assault. people demanded

he leave svt and they sent death threats to him

as well. kcarats stayed low bc they understood

the language (duh) and knew pledis would take

all action to thoroughly investigate. however, the

international fans were a different. im sure some

sent emails to pledis demanding the removal of

mingyu. because of this pledis had to take much

longer in order to address everything AND they

posted   their own   english   translation of any

statement they made.

when it was found out that the translations by

cheolca were incorrect, it was too late. carat or

not, that is how kpop fans saw mingyu when

none of it was true. to add onto that, cheolca

made her acc private & only issued an apology

after people were demanding her too. after she

posted the apology and clarification, she set

her acc to private soon after so all the people

who saw the mistranslation never got to see

the apology/clarification. mingyu's reputation

was ruined. imagine the pain he felt thru all of

this? getting death threats, being called names

that he should've never been called. all bc of

cheolca and her mistranslation.

this is defamation against mingyu as she had

spread false information & legal action NEEDS

to be taken against here. please check out

THIS thread on how to email pledis regarding

this issue. mingyu should've never had to deal

with all of this in the first place. carats please

check out the thread & share with your other

carat/kpop friends. cheolca needs to be held

responsible actions.
