Safety Tips! False Identity vs Persona

Hello my lovely Mischievers! King here! A few issues rose up and I’m here to deal with them, so here it goes.

This is a problem that can be seen in most online communities and it's that of sharing personal information. First, let's revise the Important Safety Tips:

As we can see, it's advised that everyone should protect their personal information. Things like full names, exact address, phone numbers, etc. should be kept secret. Things like only first names, and country where you live and age are okay but everyone has the choice to give as much information about themselves as they want. Some may want to share some, some may not want to share any at all, it's important to respect everyone's choice.

Now, there’s a difference between creating a persona to protect your identity and creating a false identity. You can create a persona, which is a version of yourself. Yet it still yourself. A false identity is when you lie completely about who you are and that is not acceptable. Saying, for example, you’re related to Tom (outside of a roleplay that is) is wrong and unacceptable unless it’s true in real life.

Using someone else name is not acceptable, pretending to be someone you are not, is unacceptable. Identity theft and falsification is not accepted in Amino and much less in this community. If we find out someone is doing this, action will be taken.

Now, back to online safety, if someone tells you they are uncomfortable answering too many questions, please respect that. They have their reasons, no need to call them out for it. And if anyone feels like they are being pressured into giving information, please inform the leadership through pm and the situation will be dealt with. You should share only what your are comfortable with sharing, but don’t make up a false identity or steal one. If you see someone falsifying or stealing(inside this Amino, outside of it we can’t do much) flag it.
