hello there!

I’m Lisa! today I thought of posting a blog about tips that I’ve personally picked up on during school. some of these are atleast different from other tips (I hope) so I think that this may be very helpful to some of yous!

let’s get on with the blog

read more ya’ll

Interestingly enough, people really underestimate reading. Some hate reading, but really, it’s more like people haven’t found the right bookss to read.

                                I love reading

but slam a 5000 page book at

                             how an elephant lives would

                             ultimately bore me.

:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:

Everyone has preferences.

It’s helped me from getting

average marks, to now

where I am even being

offered in honour classes

and even placed in the

top 5% of my country in

my grade.

                      It’s incredible something so small

                              could become something so

                                great and beneficial to you.

tone down on them alarms

I had 20 alarms every morning.

Not joking, every five minutes or every one minute an alarm would go off. However, having less alarms is actually beneficial.

:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:

                                how?

                                      well, you’ll go into shock

                                      thinking you’re late when

                                      an alarm doesn’t go off,

                                      literally scares me every

                                      morning otherwise my

                                      mother would come in

                                      and whoop my ass.

plan ahead and be prepared

be prepared for things that come at you. be prepared for more homework, more assignments and other whole lot of things.

:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:

Read through any notices,

emails or overviews you

have of the year.

Especially overviews!

Try to keep in mind of

what you’ll be learning

before you head into a lesson.

Exam dates and assignments

aren’t always set exactly on a

date and can change time to

time, you could unknowingly

walk into your next class and

be placed on an exam that

was supposed to occur next week!

:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:

You could do many things like:

                         > investing in a planner

                         > use calendars to set events

                          or deadlines

                         > plan study sessions

                         > come into class, already

knowing the basics of the topic

                          you are learning

                         > etc.

don’t forget! reminding is the key!

I am a very forgetful person. Unimaginably forgetful actually, so when I get an assignment or homework, I try EVERYTHING to .

Writing it in my planner, creating alarm and my most favorite- writing on myself. Even if it requires effort, better safe than sorry!

:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:

btw, if you do write on your

hand, write it on the hand that is

                          usually used when typing,

                          so when you’re holding your

phone you’ll see the writing and

be reminded. (I always think it’s

a bug and freak out XD)

make notes neat (or readable lmao)

it kind of motivates you and make you your notes more

:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:

                         Some helpful way to organize

your notes would be using pens,

                          pencils, highlighters and colors.

But don’t go overboard, it may

                          distract you from paying

                          attention in the actual lesson!

engage in class, with teachers or peers

Raise your hand up, actively participate, develop relationships with these people! You’ll be with them for a year (or more) so might as well get on their good side.

:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:

                         if you don’t understand

something, make sure to go and

                         ask the teacher instead of

                          pondering at home. teachers are

are there to help you learn,

but they can’t help you if you are

                         unwilling to be helped.

fit the criteria

when completing an assignment, make sure check the criteria sheet and also check the criteria sheet of your teacher’s.

what I mean is, each teacher

have different expectations

and requirements, they all

do things differently.

To one teacher, your work may

be an A, to another it may not.

:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:

So make your work fit to

what your teacher likes!

They like lots of description?

Add lots of description!!!

They don’t like it when people

use the word ‘also’? Don’t ever

use the word also! Stuff like that

[C] I’m Lisa! today I thought of posting a blog about tips that I’ve personally

take breaks/procrastinate, only if you trust yourself

We all deserve breaks, and sometimes procrastination can give you a little time to know about yourself or discover new things. But we should only do so if you trust yourself. Are you capable of returning straight back to work? Are you willing to do it?

:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:

                         maybe every 20-30 minutes,

have a break! studying too long

                         isn’t beneficial- especially if

                          you forget everything from

                          being too tired or exhausted.

search for and marking

Ask your teacher, friends, classmates and anyone to read over your work. Sometimes, reading it to ourselves- we can’t see the errors.

                          Having other people read

through it can actually help you

                          spot some that you were

                          unaware of!

:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:

Your work is for OTHERS

to read, not yourself!

Unless it’s just a analytical

essay that you’ll read to

yourself before bed- it’s

something that will be

judged by others. Even if

you understand it, if others

can’t, there’s no point.

study at home

I don’t mean you have to sit for hours and review notes (although that’s probably ideal…) but do some sort of ‘studying’ in a way that suits you.

:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:

I tend to watch videos like

                          lectures or reading about that

                          topic or even researching.

                          Everyone has different ways of

studying and it’s best that you

atleast don’t feel like jumping in

a hole when you do it.

stay away from drama and toxic peeps

It’s hard when people start drama or do hurtful things to you, but at the end who’s going to get an awesome degree / job and shove it in the other’s face?

You.

:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:

Just focus on work, drama just

                          makes you think about

                          unnecessary things and you

                          become distracted.

You can simply just ignore them,

                          get your assignments done and

then go deal with it. I don’t

                          advise doing that though, our

brain cells are valuable and we

                          shouldn’t waste it on people

                          who start drama.

                                  oops my bad :relaxed:

I love this, it’s quite helpful! Also do you have any book recommendations?

Im not sure tbh!! But I would recommend these books:

Suspect X by Keigo Higashino

The Empty cross by Keigo Higashino

Les Thanatonautes series by Bernard Weiber

Le Miroir De Cassandre by Bernard Weiber

Paradise by Bernard Weiber

Traveller’s read by Lee Hwi Min

Me before you by JoJo Moyes

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Though some of them aren’t in English so it might be hard for you to read :confounded: Overall I read books usually online as well, sites like Wattpad (everyone hates Wattpad but if you stay away from the cliché romances, there’s really great writers on there).
