⩇:⩇⩇ 𝐁𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐀 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐏?

It’s safe to say that’s just what I did when it came to this series. From the visuals & hype that I witnessed before watching, I just knew this one couldn’t let me down. It’s centered around a retired hitman named Taro Sakamoto who now runs a local convenience store with his family. Turns out he’s on everyone’s most wanted list, specifically 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐃. Taro Sakamoto got the legendary assassin name for himself after years of taking out people with top tier technique. Well, the first guy tried running up on him and his name was Shin Asakura! Now I liked shin’s character from the moment he was introduced. He was relatable & still not secure within himself. With his special ability of clairvoyance, I knew this would be interesting to see.

Seeing Shin have a complete change of heart about trying to end Mr. Sakamoto’s was nice to see. You saw just how vulnerable of a character Shin truly was even though he’s tough & skilled as hell. Looking up to the guy he tried to kill & then having him as a mentor. I thought the animation & aesthetic looked pretty sick for the first few episodes & it wasn’t as bad as I was hearing folks say online. This series reminds me so much of #SoulEater ‘s art style & how some of the characters look and act. It’s almost like cartoony anime which always intrigued me.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐒𝐚𝐲....

This series has a comedic & action packed way of pulling you into story. Every episode I’ve seen thus far has been entertaining & wholesome. Adding Lu & Heisuke to the mix only made it more entertaining. I don’t think I’ve met a bad character yet(the irony) in the series. Basically Sakamoto is just trying to keep peace in his life & for his family. Hiring Shin & Lu at the shop as part time body guards as well, it’s just a cool concept. When everyone is out to get the top assassin you already know it’s going to be good action. With a little plot about who’s really trying to take down Sakamoto. I like a series that can have characters be entertaining but also unique. Each of the character’s shine in their own way which makes them unforgettable.

Everyone has a past they’d like to move on from in this series, they just want better lives to live peacefully. The trust & reliability displayed in Sakamoto Days comes off pretty organic. Characters can make or break a series easily. I like anime where I can most of the characters names & they didn’t feel replaceable. The more really is the merrier in the case of this show.

𝐇𝐞’𝐝 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐨 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀 𝐅*𝐂𝐊 𝐓𝐨 𝐓𝐫𝐲....

Sakamoto as a character has been criticized for being too quiet & stagnant as hell when he’s not fighting. But I’m on the Shin side of things & think his personality is pretty dope. I like the fact that we never know Mr. Sakamoto’s true strength & everything he does looks effortless. A dude who gained over 40 pounds after his assassin career looking almost unrecognizable to his foes, can still kick ass? They never see it coming. They literally never see him coming and it’s funny how he’s always underestimated. It’s cool having the concept of a main character who says so little but his actions speak for him. Staying calm cool & collected when your life is being threatened is pretty crazy in my eyes. It gives more mystery to his character. Taro Sakamoto is such an interesting character to me & he truly captivates those around him by what he does, not always what he says. He’s a murderer after all….but a sensible one. Even with helping Shin become more comfortable in himself & his clairvoyance. Even helping Lu realize she’s more than a mafia girl. Even helping Heisuke realize that he’s worth something & the best damn sniper he’s ever seen.

𝐂𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐞 𝐈’𝐥𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮

I’ve really enjoyed the story & adventures of Team Sakamoto and I’m always excited to see just how strong Taro Sakamoto is. In regards to my impressions first watch, I was disappointed. A lot of people hate on Shonen anime because they think it’s all too similar & nothing beats the greats. Anime like this gives me hope for the continued domination of Shonen anime because it’s just that magnificent. The fights are almost always 10/10. Not one fight sequence has disappointed in this series thus far & I like how creative they are with the cinematography. Managing to make a great series off an ex hitman working in a 7-eleven. Lol it’s genius. Bringing comedy to action is what I think most anime should strive to do. I’d recommend this as a great starter anime to those looking to get into anime. It just has everything necessary to be a good anime that everyone can enjoy. I think the anime is doing the manga justice & most fans can agree. My biggest takeaway from this series so far is that family is way worth staying alive for instead of constantly having yours in jeopardy, doing some crazy work. Also, new families can sprout anyday.
