Memory desk 2: "¡Adivina quien viene a cenar!"

Este viejo dibujo fue una ilustración encomendada para la publicación de un tomo de cuentos de terror (que no prosperó). El material del libro tenía un humor negro y macabro, alguna historia que podía relacionar con la ironía y crudeza de Guy de Maant (¿Escribí bien el nombre de este autor francés?), Quise compartirlo con ustedes porque aún me parece un trabajo emocionante, veo que mis trazos son un poco planos y sin embargo cada forma está tan llena de propuestas e ideas. Fue emocionante expresar el contenido del libro con esta imagen que remite a los terrores antiguos: vemos a un hombre de cierta prosperidad y cultura de épocas pasadas que en la noche es sorprendido por lo antinatural, la apología de un hombre ilustrado de sociedad. Con ironía el título "¡Adivina quién viene a cenar!"

This old drawing was an entrusted illustration for the publication of a volume of horror stories (which did not prosper). The material of the book had a black and macabre humor, some history that could relate to the irony and crudeness of Guy de Maant (Did I write well the name of this French author?), I wanted to share it with you because it still seems an exciting work, I see that my strokes are a bit flat and nevertheless each shape is so full of proposals and ideas. It was exciting to express the content of the book with this image that refers to the ancient terrors: we see a man of certain prosperity and culture of past times who at night is surprised by the unnatural, the apology of an enlightened man of society. With irony the title "guess who comes to dinner!"
