Bluetailed Flameforger and The Knight[2021 Redraw]

The dragon swung its massive head around to face the knight. The knight crouched down ready to lung at the beast. After all, she had a contract to fulfil.

[Self Critique]

The Dragon: Simply put, the dragon doesn't look intimidating. Its snout is very wide, giving it an almost cute appearance, not one of a fierce dragon. Its neck also has quite a sharp edge to it and its head is kinda large compared to the rest of its body.

The Knight: I like the knights proportions. That being said, there definitely could be improvements to her. The armor looks clunky to me. It doesn't look like she'd be able to move very well. I also don't like that her hair is down. It could easily get caught or burned.

The Background: I love the background in the piece. However, it doesn't have any perspective due to the lack of shading.

[Analysis]

The Dragon: In the new piece, I kept the original pose while also making the dragon's head smaller and more "animalistic". I redrew the chest so it didn't look like it snapped its neck. I also colored the dragon, using a color pallet of a real lizard. I slightly reformed the dragons wings so that they look more natural.

The Knight: I changed the knights pose a smidge so that she looks more confident. I also remade her armor so it looks more interesting and less clunky. I put her hair up and colored her armor in duller colors with gold accents.

The Background: I like the background in this piece too. I made it dark and blurred it out so it didn't distract from the focus of the drawing.

Shading: I added shading to this piece as well. The original piece was supposed to have shading and coloring but I never got around to it, sadly. I, overall, like the shading of this piece. You can easily tell were the light is coming from, and the dragon being mostly shaded makes it more intimidating, in my opinion.

Overall: Overall, the piece is much better. I have improved on character design, anatomy, and perspective.
