”I thought he needed a chair.” Razor hissed softly. “Why in the fuck is he walking?” “Because he’s been gettin’ real good at it…” Broken watched him stumble his way into the kitchen, completely lovesick. Remus opened the fridge and got drinks, then his leg gave out. He fell to the floor but he managed to keep the drinks safe. “Ow…”

Broken stood up worriedly. “Are you ok..?” “Yeah…” he set the cups on the ground. “Help.” He smiled and shook his head, walking into the kitchen. “Come here..” he picked Remus up in one arm, using his free hand and his tail to pick up the cups- don’t ask the logistics of it I don’t know either. He carried Remus back to the table and set him down, putting the cups on the table. “I thought I had it..” he mumbled, embarrassed.

”You did pretty good..” Broken went back to eating. “How can you walk if you’re in a wheelchair?” Bolt asked. He’s not trying to be rube he just doesn’t exactly have a social filter. “Bolt.” Elion scolded. “You can’t just ask that!” Remus smiled, Bolt is just a kid and plus he’s a nurse he’s always willing to answer medical questions.

”It’s like if you sprained your ankle. You can still technically walk on it but it hurts and you can’t do it for long.” He explained. “I hurt my back a while ago so I can’t walk very far anymore. At first I couldn’t stand up at all, but the more I did it the more I got used to walking again. I still can’t walk very far, and I’ll be in this chair for the rest of my life, but I can do little things like get up to get the TV remote if it’s too far and someone,” we won’t name names, “is asleep on the couch and refuses to wake up.”

”You’re also not supposed to be doin’ it..” Broken stood up and went to get food, even though his plate was still half full. “Says the one that went on mile runs with cracked ribs!” Remus called. No Remus didn’t know until two months in, yes Broken got in lots of trouble for it. “Go for two mile runs next time, you might pop a lung.” Elion said. Brotherly love….?

After dinner they sat around and talked on the couch, y’know grown up stuff. Well Remus talked with Broken’s family, Broken snuck out for a smoke. Razor snuck out with him, sitting on the back deck. “You should ask him out.” Broken pricked his ear towards her, busy lighting his cigarette. He’s not allowed to be doing this anymore.

”Ask who out?” He offered her his pack. “Remus, your little friend there.” She took it happily. He looked over his shoulder at Remus through the sliding glass door. He stood up and opened it, walking into the dining room. “Oi..” It was a clear shot into the living room, house had a pretty open floor plan you could see right through to the front door from out back.

”Remus, we should go out…” he flicked his tail. He sighed and held his head in his hands for a minute. “Broken. Dearest.” He looked up. “We have been dating for nearly a year.” Razor scrambled to stand up. “And you didn’t tell us?! I thought you two were friends!” Broken laughed so hard he started coughing. “Broken put that cigarette out!” Remus scolded.

”I wi-“ he coughed. “I will-“ Razor huffed and pulled his tail playfully. “You dumbass!” He waved his hand, hacking and wheezing into his elbow. “Let-“ he coughed again. “Let me finish this and I’ll tell ya whatever you wanna know…”

The two of them sat outside for another half hour, smoking and catching up. They eventually walked inside, practically dragging cigarette smoke with them. “You’re taking a shower after this.” Remus huffed, making room for them on the couch. “Yeah yeah…” Broken pulled him into his lap. “Ouch..” he wrapped himself up in Broken’s jacket.

”So where’d you two meet.” Razor pestered. “Where was your first date? How long have you been dating? I want details!” Broken smiled and waved her off gently. “Met at work, went to a restaurant that was way too damn expensive..” “you didn’t pay for it.” Remus pointed out. “Zip it..” he pinned his ears back, going red.
