Life has been quite hectic as of late, but I'm still going to try to post a tad more frequently. This is older art from my 2021 Drawtober, Day 21. The digital version was completed 4 April 2022.

Backstory 1: Drauphyns are a species I'd created some time back in 2016-2017, when I was in high school. Within the past 3 years, I decided there would be different elemental drauphyns that matched their habitat.

Backstory 2: Angelou is a sky/earth type, meant for rural, forest-like areas. Due to his bright-furred disposition, he would likely be an outcast-- that is, if his species were not primarily lone hunters already.

Backstory 3: Dahlia, based off of the Black Dahlia murder (of course), is a marionette whose soul comes from a teenager roughly 15-17 years old. The only known information about her Master, the one who combined her body and soul, is that his powers give off a purple hue whenever he takes control of her body. This is quite rare, as she is obedient and emotionless. It is a mystery as to if this is because only a fraction of the original soul was combined with the body, or if her Master strictly punished her into obedience.

Backstory 4: My eldest brother is currently borrowing her character and the drauphyns as a species for his stories, but I am the soul owner of these characters. I've always loved circus themes and marionettes, so it was natural to combine the two. Because Dahlia's story is such a tragic one, I thought it was only fair to create a matching companion to accompany her.

I don't have any more progress images for this work other than these-- especially due to how long ago this was created.
