This is my art of my Oc Inaros. He’s a spicy boy who just wants to be king...I should really stop listening to the lion king when drawing.

I’ve recently been trying out more detailed art styles for potential comics in my future as an amateur creative writer and amateur artist. I really like the look of this art style I’ve come up with, although it could always be refined further. I gave myself a little pat on the back at having two drawings with actual backgrounds and this one with- don’t freak out like I did- hands.

This took me a few weeks to get done as I had it as a sketch for so long. From then on I inked it and coloured it within a few hours as I was taking my sweet time diving back into pencil colouring.

The initial sketch I held onto for a long time as I feared I’d mess up the inking and composition on the piece.

The layer which is what I call the first layer of inking, the inking layer that lacks detail and line variety.

This layer is the detailed inking. I add some variety and subtle shadows. This step is where it’s easiest for me to make mistakes.

Coloured with no background, wanting to make sure his colour composition worked before I added something behind him.

A background that fills in a lot of the negative space and empty space while using a formation of lines and circle to draw the eye to the subject, Inaros.

Final piece, Inaros in front of a Greek Roman based background, with his golden wreath. I adore this image and this character I’ve made, maybe one day I’ll even write his story I have planned.
