Icebreaker!

Hello all! Figured I'd do an icebreaker post since I'm new here!!

1 - my nickname on here is Dove!

2 - I belong to the 13-17 age group

3 - I'm from the United Kingdom

4 - my first language is English, I'm currently learning Spanish and I'd like to learn German and Japanese

5 - I was just looking for a reading community and this one came up in search!

6 - I hope to get some good book recommendations out of this community and to hopefully bond over shared interests!

7 - I'm definitely more of a reader, but I'd love to get into writing a little more

8 - I'm most likely going to make book reviews or analysis posts, maybe if I feel like it I'll some of my writing!

9 - I prefer adult level reading, though I do still like books like watership down which is aimed more at children

10 - I don't really have a preferred genre! Though, I like books that explore the concept of the human mind, aswell as ones about homosexual love

11 - my favourite book series is miss peregrine's home for peculiar children, though that's mostly because I've not read a book series since I finished that one

12 - anything by Colleen Hoover

13 - my current favourite author is Mishima Yukio

14 - I have! I have work published on ao3

15 - I prefer writing in more novel/short story esque formats

16 - I prefer writing romance, mystery and crime

17 - a quote from Mishima Yukio's Confessions of a Mask that I love is, “ because of him I cannot love an intelligent person. Because of him I cannot love a person who wears glasses. Because of him I began to love strength, an impression of overflowing blood, ignorance, ignorant gestures, rough speech, and the savage melancholy inherent in flesh not tainted in any way by intellect ”

18 - if I was an animal I'd probably be a rabbit

19 - if I were a mythical creature, I'd probably be a harpy or a sphinx

20 - some of the fictional characters I'd love to befriend are Winston Smith (1984), Raskolnikov (Crime and Punishment), Hannibal Lecter (Hannibal tetralogy), Will Graham (Red Dragon), Samwise Gamgee (lotr series) and Hazel or Bigwig (Watership Down)

21 - I started reading very very early on and I quickly progressed in reading ability

22 - 1984 by George Orwell, the Motorcycle Diaries by Che Guevara, and Confessions of a Mask by Mishima Yukio.

23 - I'll it I've only recently gotten back into reading so there aren't really any I've read that I haven't enjoyed yet!

24 - if I could befriend a non fictional book character I'd befriend Mishima Yukio

25 - I'd love to live in the Dune universe or the Watership Down universe

26 - currently I'm reading Confessions of a Mask by Mishima Yukio

27 - I like drawing, watching films, making edits, writing and reading manga

28 - I am autistic, a gay guy and I have body dysmorphic disorder. I love politics and history, and I'm very interested in samurai and Japanese cinema at the moment
