[C]First of all, I want to wish a very happy 7th bangtan

First of all, I want to wish a very happy 7th bangtanversary to BTS and all the readers currently reading this blog. Congratulations! We have succeeded in making another year filled with memories and occurrences that shall forever be recalled with pride and fondness. Cheers to that!

While I was thinking about what to make for this special occasion, "WAB: The Eternal" mv was dropped. And honestly, it reduced most of us to an emotional mess. The music video was so reflective, giving us a throwback to the entire journey of BTS, since the beginning till this date. It highlights both the happy and sad memories throughout the journey of yesterday's Bangtan transitioning into today's Bangtan.

We all know the amount of efforts and struggles BTS has undergone to stand here in this place today. They have had bad days when they wanted to give up everything and run away. They have had haters pointing at them and saying that they wouldn't amount to much anyways. But at the end of the day, they persevered. They returned to living their dreams because they knew this is what they truly wanted. They survived through all those grueling days, when they had nothing but the hope of a better tomorrow. And they succeeded. They succeeded in showing life that no matter how many challenges come their ways, they will survive. They succeeded in looking into the eyes of their haters and prove to them that they will thrive, no matter what they say. And now, they and their music are inspiring people all across the globe, disregarding all the barriers of language, genres and age.

So anyways, back to the point. When I saw the mv, I started thinking about what does BTS represent? BTS is known to the world for their sharp choreography and musical excellence. They are known to ARMYS for their shining personalities and inspiring words. But there is more to it. They are more than just excellent musical artists and glamorous dancers at whom the world looks upon with awe. They represent so many different aspects of the society. Their music speaks for the world. It was then that I decided to make this blog, highlighting all the different aspects that BTS has successfully represented through themselves and their music. I've tried my best to include most of it here, but since it's only a blog made by a mere human, overlook any flaws that it might contain.

!The entire blog is based on my personal thoughts and interpretations. It is not meant to be disrespectful towards anyone in any manner. Please read the entire blog before you comment something. Thank you!

With that being said, thank you for choosing to read my blog and I hope you enjoy it!

BTS Represents The Underrated

What BTS Represents Through The Years-[BC]Greetings ARA!

[C]First of all, I want to wish a very happy 7th bangtan

When BTS started their journey into the kpop world, they were underestimated by a hell lot of other idols and companies.

If you know about the k-industry, you might be aware of the "big three" companies that tend to dominate the kpop market. Since BTS did not belong under any of those three companies, they were often told by others that they would never amount to much. And also, the competition in the industry was, and still is really tough. So, yeah, it was really difficult for a rookie group to survive if they didn't have an influential company to back them up, which BTS evidently didn't have.

They came from a company which was then really small and fairly new in the kpop market, with minimum amount of experience in training a future idol. BigHit didn't even have enough funds and sponsorships then, and hence there was a constant financial crisis. BTS once revealed that they were called "dirt spoons" because of that. But the entire world knows what happened after that. They came from a small company with no recognition. But they grew up to be the largest and the most influential kpop band, not only in South Korea, but the world as a whole.

So BTS represents the underrated minority. They teach us the valuable lesson that we shouldn't underestimate anyone, not even ourselves. Wealth, influence and fortune don't matter always. Yes, they might help you to some extent, but in the long run, you build your own destiny.

━━━━━━━━┅━━━┅━━━━━━━━

BTS Represents Thriving Against Norms

BTS has been breaking the so-called societal norms and stereotypes ever since the beginning. The theme of their music deviates from the mainstream kpop musical themes. They have deliberately spoken about the society and its unjust ways, mental health and empowerment of youth. These aren't themes that are normally seen in the kpop genre. But they have spoken about these themes in their music. And they have thrived.

Also, BTS is a group which has time and again shattered the gender norms, again "so kindly" created by the society. And they have gained a lot of unjust hate for this reason. But look who is mocking at those people today. BTS has remained unapologetically themselves throughout the years, and they have succeeded in making other people realise that societal norms aren't everything. Because what right does the society have to tell you to be someone else other than yourself?

And according to me, it was much needed. It was much needed for the rise of music which would slap society in the face and question it, who has asked for your opinion? Who has asked you to put labels on other human beings?   Who has told you that boys don't cry and girls don't ride sports bikes?

BTS has broken these societal stereotypes, and it has helped others change their view of what an idealistic civilization should be like. An idealistic civilization is formed of humans who do not judge each other for being themselves. And BTS has opened our eyes to these unjust social practices that has been unintentionally been committed through years.

BTS Represents The Voice Of Youth

I'm sure many will agree with me at this point.

We have all gone through(and maybe we still go through) times when we have been pressurised by some or the other powerful authority into doing something against our wishes. We were morphed into doing something more valuable to them, rather than thinking about our own happiness. Maybe you wanted to become a singer, but you were forced to become a doctor instead? Or maybe you just wanted to be happy in life, but were forced into having a life where you only run after materialistic possessions?

The youth has always faced oppression. Our voices of protest has been suppressed by the red eyes of the society, our dreams shattered because of the threats of reality. We have lost the meaning of happiness. Have you ever felt this? The moment when you want to to speak out your frustration but your voice dies down in your throat? You want to protest, but there is no one to hear you out? You want to tell others that no one has the right to snatch away your dreams. But you can't?

A boring same day, on a repeating day

Adults and parents inject stereotypical dreams

Prospective number one civil servant?

It's not a compulsory dream

~BTS, No More Dream

BTS has represented that dying voice of the youth. Their music speaks for the suppressed voices, the voices that has been left unheard for so long. Through their music, they have bravely spoken about the illogical educational system in some of the countries, where the focus is mainly on burdening the students with assignments and syllabus, rather than actually educating them for life. The system has always weighed the merit of a student in of academic grade, not their actual worth.

Due to this pressurization, the freedom of our generation is on the verge of extinction. And BTS' music has focused on that. They have shown us that the extreme pressure and expectations that the society bestows upon us, ends up with the youth compromising with their dreams and happiness. And ultimately, no one is going to be happy with the end result. No matter how much wealth or fame you collect, happiness comes with us being ourselves. Not puppets dancing on other's instructions. Think about it.

BTS Represents Hope And Perseverance

"Because the dawn right before the sun rises is the darkest."

-BTS, Tomorrow

BTS has come a long way from being underestimated rookies to the most influential kpop band in the world. But was the journey really a cakewalk? No, it wasn't. There were hardships, struggles and days when they just wanted to give up and run away from everything. They have gone through dark times when they have felt utterly worthless, with no one to tell them otherwise.

their emotional speech in MAMA 2018? They openly spoke up about the fact that they were not going to renew their contract with BigHit. Which meant that they would disband soon. They were so utterly hopeless with the turn of events that they all actually thought of disbanding and going on with their own lives. But in the end they didn't. Do you know why? Because they had that one thing which is really rare to posses, but keeps you going during the darkest of times. They had hope. Hope that their misery would finally come to an end. Hope for a better future. And it was hope that helped them struggle against all odds, so that they are standing where they are today. If they had given up, do you think they would have come this far?

So, yeah. BTS represents hope. Even their music represents hope. The lyrics give you the strength to hope. Hope for something better. There are so many bad things waiting for you outside in the world that you wouldn't even imagine. And if you have to reach your goal, you have to go through them all alone. Because your journey is your own. No one can share it. It's hard to accept, but it's TRUE. But that doesn't mean you cower in a corner of your room for fear of what happens tomorrow. You have to go through this journey called life. And when there are setbacks, so terrible that you want to quit, just take a deep breath, BTS' journey, and hope for a better future. Everything will , but you will survive, trust me.

BTS Represents Courage

BTS represents courage. Courage to speak up against the unjust ways of the society. Courage to look the world in it's eyes and tell it who is in the wrong.

BTS wasn't much influential in the initial years of their career. Heck their company wasn't even an influential one. But did those facts stop them from being honest and speaking up? No. They spoke up, shouted out against topics which were never spoken up about before in the k-industry. Or maybe even the musical genre in general. They spoke up about political issues, unfairness in the industry, and also sensitive issues like mental health. And according to me, that needs a hell lot of courage. It needs a hell lot of courage for a musical septet, who were just in the prime of their career, to speak up about such topics, that too without any sugarcoating. They told the truth like it is. And just think about it. Wouldn't it have been easy for them to go with the flow and compose music on topics which were mainly targeted at the teenage audience and fangirls? If they were to do that, I'm sure they wouldn't receive half the amount of hate they did in their journey. But they did not go with the flow. They chose the path which was beset with difficulties. They knew it could either make or break their career. And in my opinion, it needs immense courage to make a decision, when you know it may not end up in your favor.

BTS is a symbolism of courage for me. They have shown us that if you really want to do something, stop thinking about where you will end up with it. Stop thinking about what others has to say. Stop. Just stop thinking about the consequences for a while, and with courage in your heart, follow your heart for once. If it makes you happy, it's worth doing!

BTS Represents Self-Esteem

BTS undoubtedly represents self esteem. They have encouraged us, people of all age ranges, from all around the globe, to love ourselves for who we are and speak ourselves for how we want it to be.

Self-confidence is something that most youth lack, including myself. But it is really crucial, in every aspect of life. And BTS, with their music and campaign have repeatedly spread the message of self love. I won't say that self-esteem is something you just gather up overnight. No. It is not. It is a long process and we need to make baby steps every day to reach there. But it is certainly heart warming to see someone else, who maybe doesn't even know you exist, encourage you to love yourself. Many will agree that after they found BTS, they actually began making efforts to love themselves. And BTS is known to the world for their messages on self love, something which is so important, but overlooked so easily.

They have encouraged us to speak ourselves. Speak up. Speak up to find your true identity. Speak up to find your potential. Speak up against injustices and unfairness. Use your voice, because there's no greater weapon that a common human possesses other than their voice. Use it. And you will be heard, no matter how dense the crowd is.

Because YOU MATTER.

It is not often that you hear others saying you to have confidence in yourself or use your voice, since our social system is mostly just busy suppressing us. So, as RM once said, use them. Use BTS, to love yourself.

BTS Represents You

[C]First of all, I want to wish a very happy 7th bangtan

Yes, you read that right. And no, I'm not joking. BTS actually represents you. BTS represents me. BTS represents us, in general.

They represent our untold stories. When you listen to their music and comprehend the lyrics, don't you feel like those are your words, that has been taken out right from your head? Don't you relate to the lyrics at some level, like they are just the words that you have been wanting to speak out for so long? If yes, you have your answer right there. BTS represents your story, and that of millions of other people all across the globe.

Hence, BTS represents us. So, whenever you feel like no one gets you, or you feel like there is no one to listen to your stories, that BTS represents you. Their lyrics are your stories and they speak for you. Because even if no one gets you, they understand you. They always did. You just need to have faith in yourself and them!

I still cannot believe that we have completed 7 years with these amazing men. Time, it is a really strange concept, isn't it? I have not been with BTS since the beginning, something I'll regret forever. But I hope I can stay till the end. When I found them, I was going through a really tough time. I wishing upon a shooting star that I would find someone to help me go through that strange time. And then, I found BTS. It wouldn't be exaggeration at all to say that their music and message has helped me heal. I'm forever grateful for finding them♡
