This blog is part of a series. If you would like to read the other parts, link will be at the end.

After a stressful November spread comes December. I love the Holiday season and wanted to make a spread to go along with it. The accent color I chose was gold (I know I have used it before. I just really like it! )

I started my spreads with gold handlettering I found on Pinterest . I thought it was fitting for the season!

For the cover, I decided to make it two pages. I drew simple wintery doodles to go along with the Holiday theme.

For the monthly, I kept consistent with the rest of my journal. I added green garland for the Holiday accent. I still wasn't a fan of measuring out the calendar grid but this one was much more tolerable because it was Holiday themed.

I attempted a Christmas tree habit tracker where my dots would be like the "ornaments" on the tree. As you can see, I didnt keep up with it for most of the month.

(Not pictured) My weekly/daily spreads were list as-you-go with gold headers. I didn't bother to plan out the spreads because I was already frustrated with the lined notebook. It was less stressful as well.

I skipped a few pages of this spread to add some journaling prompts and an Instagram challenge. I did few of the Instagram prompts and I did some of the journaling prompts when I felt the need to.

After doing some of the prompts, I stopped using the journal and moved straight into my Moleskine dotted journal. I never did finish the journal due to the frustration of measuring out lines. I do at times use it for lettering practice or writing out random notes if I can't find a piece of paper.

Overall, the experience was positive. I appreciated the idea of having a planner that is fully customized to me, by me. The more I used it, I realized what I liked and what I didn't like. Because of this, it allowed me to add or take away spreads. I also helped me realize that I don't like lined journals. It helped me practice handlettering and brought back my love for drawing and doodling.

I don't regret buying this journal at all. At the time, bullet journaling was not as popular therefore, dotted notebooks were not easy to find at stores. The dotted journals were more expensive (my Moleskine was about $20 USD). If I bought them as a starter and ended up not liking bullet journaling, I would have wasted all that money.

For all of you just starting out but think "it's not as pretty as everyone else's bullet journals",  please take that idea out of your head. Everyone has to start somewhere. Bullet journaling is a learning process and it takes practice. If by the end you still don't like bullet journaling, it's okay! At least you tried!

Aww don't let my post discourage you from using lined journals! You probably might like using them. I'm always just awful at making my lines even and straight even with a ruler XD.

It was a Craftsmart Paint Pen I bought from Michael's. Suprisingly it didnt bleed through even though it seemed like it would at first.
